Pacquiao should have done that years ago, it is obviously too late now.

Why Pacquiao resigned with Arum, when he clearly does not need a promoter..... why Pacquiao is happy to have Michael Koncz as his personal advisor, when it has been revealed that Koncz draws a wage from Top Rank..... and, why Pacquiao is happy to receive 25mil of his 80mil purse..... are three factors that I suspect I will never understand.

There is obviously a reason why Manny is the worst businessman ever.

I don't keep myself up to speed with Pacquiao's current tax situation, so he very well may have to keep fighting for the money. Although damn, he just received like the 2nd biggest purse in the history of the sport, so one would think that would've put a massive dent in it or wiped it out altogether. But then again like I said, I don't keep up with that. Maybe he does owe more, who the hell knows.

If he doesn't though, I don't really see the point. Coming off a major surgery that's going to take a half year of recovery time. Dude isn't getting any younger. He'll be what, 37 by the time he is ready to partake in another camp? What truly relevant fight options would be left at that time? I mean relevant as far as his legacy goes. Would beating a guy like Danny Garcia enhance his legacy? Or Kell Brook? Those names do zero for his legacy at this point. Sure they'd be great wins for Garcia or Brook (if they were to win), but for Pacquiao they do nothing.

I've had a lot of fun on the Pacquiao ride and wished it wasn't over (or surely close to it anyway), but at some point you have to seriously consider what the point it is...there's nothing left to do. He scaled the mountain and got the Mayweather fight -- and he blew his chance. It's over.

The good thing is, at THIS stage in his career, the only people who will be upset if he does retire are his tired a$$ fanbase. Me for one, would be elated [if he retired] because I would not have to filter through any of your dumb comments anymore and me and the true boxing fans can finally resume discussing boxing like gentlemen.

Good post. Have you experienced such a injury yourself? I think ist hard for People to tell how hard it is to get back to 100% if you have no experience with such Kind of injuries. Anyway, shoulder injury or not, Pacman is not the same anymore and has archieved A LOT during his Long career, he should think about retirement.

                  That is true !

A number of writers/analysts/commentators have since commented on the injury..... nobody appears to be buying it. Most are scoffing at the suggestion of a rematch.

Too funny, Flo mos tried hard to celebrate JR 's BS win but they can't!
Manny beats JR with one hand, deal with it! Manny can retire anytime now!

In this world it's all about money...so, retiring is one issue and earning hundreds of millions of dollars is another temptation that's facing Pacman!
With high tech medicine, healing a shoulder injury isn't a problem.

So I won't be surprise if a rematch with runner Floyd jr will come to reality next year!
