If it was up to Oscar would've never fought Trout or Lara. Basically if Canelo wants it he'll demand it and Oscar won't be able to stop him.

maybe the only ones who could prevent this from happening is HBO, they will prob want to milk their future stars for a while and marinate the fight...
then have them fight when they are at their peak in terms of star power...
canelo had power over showtime cuz he didnt have a long term contract like he does with hbo...

That's not really true when you think about it. I mean sure, Mex-American fans support Mexican fighters, that's a given. The vast majority of Mayweather fans are white and black. Just look at the audience in attendance during his fights.

Pacquiao's biggest base is whites and Asians. So no, you're wrong about only Mexican boxing fans keeping the sport alive. They're keeping "Mexican" boxing alive, because quite frankly, they don't have much going on right now. Canelo is their only decent fighter.
