It's like that trick where you hang the carrot in front of the horses face to keep it running. You position your body close to your opponent(standing on the front foot) to make them believe that you are there to be hit then BOOM, counter punch. Floyd's pull counter is the definition of distance deception. It's as high level a technique as it gets.

Loma is solid all-around.. he's very sharp, impressive, and exciting to watch. I can understand what hectari means, some fighters focus way too much on the defense aspect and care more about winning by any means -avoiding risks- instead of entertaining the people watching. The trick is to find a good balance and Loma seems close to it- the best of both worlds (or styles). I hope to see him in some great fights soon.

Jesus man he has had 5 damn fights and already lost 1..............How can you even compare him or Rigo to Floyd?? He has been on top for 19 damn years UNDEFEATED 12 world titles in 5 divisions and 4 divisional lineal titles..........

This thread isn't about accomplishments. Also, if Loma had around 15-18 fights before his world title shot, he would most likely be undefeated as well. At this stage of his career (5 fights), his resume is far better than what Floyd's was after his first five.

But it will be interesting to look back in 10 years and compare achievements. Loma has the time and skill on his side to partake in around 20 more title fights, so he could overtake Floyd in that department (and possibly wins).

Thats exactly what I feel, he is the perfect balance, some guys rely too much on one side and Loma mixes both equally.

He is the perfect blend.

Loma is a perfect blend, sometimes a little too hesitant, but i figure he was adjusting to the 12 rounds in the pro game. When he lets his hands go, those combos are something else.

You forgot the biggest piece of the puzzle which can make a fighter perfect blend or not always come out on top and is the reason Lomachenko has a loss and Rigo and Floyd don't. Adaptability . The reason Floyd always wins ain't just cause he holds is because he has an uncanny ability to adapt to his opponent. Rigo has developed that, but not to the same extent, and Lomachenko lost because he wasn't allowed proper time to develop it as a professional.

That's Floyd biggest talent he is unparalleled at reading his opponent and adapting and doing whatever it takes to win because at the end of the day winning is what matters.

The guy is excellent when defending but also impressive when on the attack. Good footwork, slick, and always adjusting to what his opponent is doing (still noob compared to Floyd though). I remember in one of his recent fights, he even injured his hand and still outclassed his opponent using only one arm, lol. Why can't Pac do that? Lol. Loma's a beast.

Also, about this turning into a race thing. Take away their skin color/ethnicity/etc. We got 2 boxers who are slick, more focused on defense vs. another boxer who is also amazing at defense while able to be very aggressive on the offense -- so he's more balanced in both aspects. That's what Hectari's trying to say.

Once Loma becomes more accustomed to prof. boxing, he'll be really tough to beat.
