Loss really hurt. The Kirkland beating took a lot out of him. He so hasn't developed I improved as I had hoped. I'm still down with him but he should've won.

Feel Bad For Him! The dude has the heart he refuses to go down but stop listening to idiots like Lampley with this "Gatti List" and all that ****** **** basically Praising Fighters who FIGHT ****** like Ruslan. That is easy for him to do from a nice Comfortable Studio and him having never ever boxed before. You have to move your ***ing head and put your Guard Up!

This dude is 25 and is already punch drunk and slurring his words. It is sad to see! It is a difference between "Heart" and being a "Warrior" vs just being flat out ***ing ******!

How the hell is tapia ******? This fight was to get him back in the championship mix. Are fighters like the original tapia, berto, gatti, Ward were they ******? Those dudes left a legacy in the sport that will live forever.

i'm starting to really resent his late stoppages. i used to appreciate the wars. now i worry about these kids taking headshots. i guess i'm getting old.

glen tapia took a life changing beating against jim kirkland. that dude is freaking vicious when he's got a stationary target, and smoger let him tee off until tapia was unconscious and needed to be held up.

he was never going to be great, anyway, as his defense and reflexes aren't good. his jaw was broken when he was in the prospect stage, IIRC. got some teeth knocked out, too. that's not an endorsement of the solid defense you need to be a world class fighter.

still, a kid doens't need to be washed up in his 20's because of a bunch of extra punches that he shouldn't have to take.

                  this sport sucks, sometimes.
I've felt that way for awhile about Smoger.

I have nothing against Tapia but I cannot feel bad or sorry for him. He is promoted by Top Rank which allowed him to stay active, fight on TV and make good money. He was also provided with all the ressources needed to succeed in this sport: world class trainer and sparring partners, probably S&C coach, etc. He has had two chances to prove he was a world class fighter and he has failed, badly. He is simply not good enough. Wasted talent is way worse, so I feel bad for the fighters who are better than him but never had all these opportunities.
