What great insight. Just for the record, the "face first brawler" got his 0 taken 2-years ago by another "face first brawler."

Please subscribe me to some of your threads. I can't wait to read the in depth information.

He's not cut out for this war stuff. Not many of us are.

You can see the moment he gets touched he gets effected.

I agree, he came out flicking his jab and doubling up on it, then he'd unload on Soro when he had him on the ropes. The thing I noticed was that even when he was having his moments and throwing combinations at Soro, Soro would catch most of the punches on his arms or roll them, even so Tapia wouldn't mix it up and I'm not sure if he realized he was throwing ineffective combinations after a certain point.

Oh well, perhaps his best days are behind him now but he can still put on some explosive fights here and there against the right opponents. He has a fan friendly style but all the punishment he has taken in his two losses are career defining. Best of luck to him. It's sad to see young fighters such as Tapia and Hernan Marquez become over the hill, shopworn, war torn fighters at such a young age.

Might have been both underestimating Soro and overestimating Tapia.

Tapia had his confidence back after the Dawson fight, but Soro was too much. Maybe they felt safe after his draw with Douglas.

Smoger did get between them. Kirkland threw another punch anyway, so the fault lies with Kirkland, not Smoger. I think Kirkland was being a **** because Tapia had given him a fight.

I couldn't agree more.. It was really tough watching Tapia get embarrassed once again especially in his home town. Like one of the posters here said it was tough watching that post fight interview but for gods sake he's gotta learn some defense! He likes to stay in the pocket and just exchange and he definitely don't have the chin for that. I'm pulling for him but I just don't think he has the skill set to make it far in this sport. I hope I'm wrong though.

And btw I took that picture in your signature. Great choice lol

Sucks because Glen seems like a straight up dude.

I think his boxer puncher style is only missing 1 element to make it truly effective...power.
Against step up opponents it looks like he doesn't phase them 1 bit with his power and that's bad when he opens himself up so much to throw his combinations.

If I were training him and said there is only 1 way left to continue your career, I'd be thinking about making him a pure boxer at this point. Go for faster, weaker flurries while constantly moving and just scoring on your opponent. Sure it's boring as hell, but if it gets you the W at the end of the day, that's all that matters, right? Just ask Floyd - OoOoOOohhhhhhh!!!!
