So maybe a hurt fighter should be allowed to hit low and head butt as well? Sorry, but not in my book.

Well we got the awful scorecards I assumed we would get. I had it 7-5 Burns, not including the bogus point deductions. With deductions I guess it's a draw or maybe a 1 point win either way. Man, I just want to see a fair fight. Why do we so often get robbed of just that? Is it too much to ask for a fair fight?

i feel that in a lot of situations, one fighter holds because the other is leading in with his head. points shouldnt be deducted for only one type of violation. cole even warned burns about his head!! but it was figueroa who was constantly violating that rule.

when you have 2 guys willing to fight on the inside like that, i think exceptions should be made. this was nothing like klitschko or john ruiz type holding. they were both working with their free hand. it was a rough fight that was fought in the trenches with both guys doing their best bernard hopkins impression.

rules are rules, but they should apply to both fighters.

An unexpectedly good performance from Burns. I thought he missed out on the draw due to the points deducted but I had him taking 6 clear rounds off Figueroa in that fight. He was getting clean shots away on the outside, for most of the bout, but Figueroa done well to force him onto the ropes and fire away the inside punches.

A great scrap. I'm pleased for Burns, regardless of the result. He's still got something left in the tank.

Imagine what Matthysse would do to Figueroa.

Before both point deductions, the ref had to literally pry Burns arm from around Fig's arm. He was latched on like a dog in heat. If he let go with a soft slap from the ref, then fine, no problem. When the ref has to pry him loose, there is a big problem. And when a fighter has been warned multiple times and broken up many times, a ref has to deduct a point. If he does not, he might as well not be there.

Burns looked to have won an ugly fight, Laurence Cole as usual was a **** ref, judges gave the fight to Figueroa by a wide margin.

The right man got the win but those scorecards were horrible.

I had Omar winning by 1 point after the point deductions.
