Wlad's only ever looked "at his best" when he's fought bums or old men. His entire career has been nothing but smoke and mirrors.

no,,,,folks that dont know boxing may have made that claim. I was one of many that pointed out wlads slowing reflexes right after that fight. pulev was landing clean shots that wlad used to avoid with ease. fury deserves huge credit if he beats wlad but only a moronic fool would say wlad was in his prime at 40 yrs oldComment

personally,,,,I think its a 50/50 fight. fury has a great gas tank for such a huge man and throws alot of punches. those are two things aging fighters have a problem with. he also has moves well for a big guy. he might be catching wlad at the right timeComment

Nonsense. Wlad's in primetime right now. His balance and footwork has never been better, conditioning has never been better, he hooks off the jab better than he has ever done before.no,,,,folks that dont know boxing may have made that claim. He's just struggled a bit because he's a clinch dependant, one dimensional, technically limited fighter and Jennings, Povetkin and Pulev(as bad he is) are by far the best fighters he's fought in years.
Look how terrible he looks in this fight with DaVarryl Williamson when he was 28yrs old. He's slow, ponderous, has poor balance and tires quickly.
He escaped another knockout loss by lucking out from a cut a stoppage. Then he ducked a rematch with Williamson.Last edited by KnockoutNed; 05-09-2015, 02:06 AM.Comment

wlads reflexes have clearly slowed in his last 3 fights. hes not nearly as quick at delivering and getting away from punches as he was 3 or 4 yrs ago. its obvious. he was a mental mess at the time he fought williamson. that was one of the worst fights of his careerNonsense. Wlad's in primetime right now. His balance and footwork has never been better, conditioning has never been better, he hooks off the jab better than he has ever done before.

as for the topic, i'm glad this fight is finally happening, wlad will ko this guy within 5 rounds. fury has no chance, none.Comment

Not likely. Wlad is a scared, gunshy fighter. Even if the opportunity presents itself for a knockout early in the fight he won't take the necessary risks to get it so he can protect his glass chin from being shattered once again. He also needs to set his feet to land hard shots. Fury's constant lateral movement will stop Wlad from being able to set his feet to land the bomb he needs to win. Fury being the bigger, taller man will take away Wlad's monotonous clinching out of the equation. That eliminates most of his game alone. Being on the inside anyway wouldn't be a good idea as unlike any other Wlad opponent Fury can fight well inside. Even if Wlad tries to keep it at range, Fury will be able to come over the top of Wlad's jab with his own jab from a distance that Wlad can't touch him.Comment

Lol @ the fight possibly taking place in the UK, they should go the whole hog and erect the portable arena used for the Frampton fights on Fury's campsite.
Their is zero chance of this fight taking place in the UK.Comment
