Couldn't agree more, anyone who knows boxing knew what they may or may not be in for, they can't expect Floyd to become a toe to toe slugger all of a sudden, and he didn't promise such.Mayweather didn't promise anything other than what he always does. If you went in to that fight with expectation that he was going to do anything different, then that's on you and only you. It's not his job to wow the crowd with flashy punches and knockouts. His job is to go into the ring and win the fight. That's it. If his method of doing that doesn't entertain you, that's too bad. No one is forcing you to watch his fights.
Pacquiao on the other hand, was expected to do more because he and his camp said they would. They said Pac was in the best shape of his life (obviously a lie considering he was injured and required surgery), that he was going to KO Mayweather. That being said, anyone who seriously expected that was ******. There was no way that the fight was going to turn out as anything but what it turned out as. Pac can't live up to the hype he and his camp created. He hasn't been that exciting KO puncher in years. And certainly not against someone who is larger, faster, and more technically skilled.
But that's Pac's fault for promoting those unreasonable expectations, and his fans' fault for actually buying into them. Shame on them for being so gullible and not doing their research before dropping money on the fight.
I saw a lot of casuals putting money on Pac, talking about the fight like they're all of a sudden boxing experts, if they took some time during the 10 week build up to watch both guys fight then they would of had an idea of what they were in for. But instead they just got caught up in media hype and got swayed by what their friends are saying.
Fact of the matter is, people like an underdog to win, and all the talking Team Pac did and the media hype built up Pac as the guy to dethrone Floyd, people were gunning for Pac to demolish Floyd, and got upset when he wasn't up for the job, but with Manny being portrayed as this blameless saint, people pointed the finger at Floyd, when really it was Manny that didn't perform as expected.
As for the amount of PPV buys, it's good to see there's a boxing event to build up such interest, I just think the fans got **** on a bit due to the cost of tickets and PPV and can understand why many were disappointed when their expectations were so high. On top of that, both Floyd and Manny are banking big money on this, which is good for them I suppose.Comment

Actually, Floyd was promising to KO Pac early and/or walk him down.Mayweather didn't promise anything other than what he always does. Don't wet your panties. I just meant that number is extremely ridiculous. Mike Stanton just signed the biggest contract in American sports history last year. It was $325M for 13 years. 13 years playing 162 3-hour games each year. Floyd made $250-275M in 36 minutes barely breaking a sweat. That's absurd money.
Another parallel. People often say Tyson made $300M in his career. Floyd made that in 36 minutes. Crazy.Comment
