Wow, thanks to sbbigmike for posting. The video is dated Feb 9, 2015 so it could be recent. Perhaps Kirkland did himself a favor by not requesting her services for his upcoming fight? There's no justification for risking an injury for the biggest fight and payday of your career. Check out the video below!

I don't like the language around the small kids...that's a no no....But seriously? when we trained Karate in Baltimore while sensei would never use a foul word, this type of training was the norm. We would get stomp kicked in the stomach, smacked upside the head, things thrown, etc and the fighting! chrome bubbles were seen by all!!! bwahhahahaha

Ann is doing it old school. Combat is a science...but if you really want to train a man or woman to go into a fighting situation the psychological conditioning comes first...you become a punk azz b1tch until you learn to be tougher, stronger, more resilient and determined and to never quit. No wonder we get fights like this weekend sheesh! This generation says but but dats abuse doa! (Sorry Bercules)

True story: Taught for years and often was requested to teach woman's self defense...would not do it until the woman took one of the courses where they have to fight against a protected opponent. You probably saw the big bubble padding....and I didn't care what program is was...as long as they developed a trusting supportive relationship with the woman, were there to deal with issues that came up, but made it clear that the woman was going to learn how to get angry, get determined and fight fight fight!

I would explain that that's where it starts, before you learn to use technique you better know how to get angry, determined and hit something real hard. Ann Wolfe is doing nothing different than a lot of teachers who have to toughen up a student.

The thing is...back in the day in martial arts training like this was the norm...I will say this as well: Being a white boy, I trained with an African American club and there was a cultural thing....I was a relatively tough kid but I had to learn to get used to this....what people don't understand is that the guy hitting you (or in Ann's case the guy hahahahha sorry) is the same guy that picks you up, makes sure you are whole, and is there to support you.

One of my many teachers, a big black prison guard in Philly, after I was there a while (he was always antagonizing me but really just keeping an eye on me and would encourage me when I was truly struggling), pulled me aside after class threw me against the locker and said "and you better be back here next week cause I know where you live in Baltimore!" translation "good job luv you man I got your back." ITS JUST TOUGH LOVE....there is an old saying in Baltimore back in the days of warring dojos: "Better me your brother smack that azz because its for your good, than getting your azz beat on the street and being left to bleed out... or something like that!
