Fight will never happen because Cotto is with Jay Z and Haymon owns Floyd.

I heard Jay and Haymon got beef, when Haymon tried to steal do a snake business deal on Beyonce with the help of her father.

This fight is not happening. Cotto should have thought of that before signing with Jay-Z.

Canelo and Cotto will probably fight each other the first week of October. But then again, Cotto didn't get much training time with Roach. Geale could knock him out.

Jay-Z and Beyonce were present at the MGM, getting featured on the broadcast, during the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight; you add that Mayweather vs Cotto, for the lineal middleweight championship, is the biggest fight to be made (sans Mayweather-Alvarez 2 on Mexican Independence Day weekend) by far, and i'd never say never.

With Jay-Z only really bringing Miguel Cotto to the table (fight will be at the MGM Grand in Vegas, the fight will be on Showtime PPV, and Mayweather Promotions will likely control every aspect), they shouldn't expect to see better than a 75/25 split offer, if any offer ends up coming about.

I really hope Floyd doesn't waste his last fight on a Cotto rematch. Though I think Floyd will go at least one more fight even if he says he's stopping after 49.

A fight not marketable because everybody knows what the outcome will be.

Cotto vs. Canelo is so much more entertaining and interesting.

No point in this fight at all

I don't think Floyd will be in another mega-fight, the last one flopped so badly in terms of entertainment

Ever since Floyd came back from retirement the collision course with Pacquiao was the main marketing. It was a good job Canelo was there when Pacquiao was KO'd by Marquez. Even then, the Pacquiao fight was still on the horizon albeit losing most of its shine

It'll be interesting to see how well Floyd's next fight does. Theres no mega-fight to build up to anymore, noone disputes Floyds claim to the best fighter of the generation now. Theres really only a Pacquiao rematch that would capture at least some of the landscapes imagination, with the 'shoulder injury' as the selling point.
