Never in the history of boxing has a fighter/trainer downplayed their own chances, or let on they are carrying an injury.
There are a plethora of reasons why Freddie would hype things up. And yes, selling the fight is one. Just as Mayweather promises the fans an exciting fight each time. Floyd is the king of selling fake promises.
You are a certified idiot.

HBO, and that includes Lampley, got what they wanted out of Pacquiao...they managed to get the Mayweather fight, something that looked DEAD multiple times for multiple reasons.
What is there left to get from Pacquiao?
If he thought the public would buy Mayweather-Pacquiao 2 he'd have a different story.
Lampley's just playing to the public reaction now.
Lampley is the biggest shill in the sport.

Pacquiao deserves all this hate because he was dishonest. His team was unabashedly dishonest. This is why Floyd was right in saying, "If you have nothing good to say, stay silent."
"You see, their morals, their code, it's a bad joke. Dropped at the first sign of trouble. They're only as good as the world allows them to be. I'll show you. When the chips are down, these... these civilized people, they'll eat each other." - The Joker, The Dark Knight
