This gets brought up all the time by the people excusing this fight. Trap setting, footwork, distance control, feints etc are all well and good, but they can all happen in a fight which has actual punches landed. Or drama of any kind.
Just saying it was good fight because there was lots going on other than clean punches doesn't make much sense to me. Clean punches are the end game. The touchdowns. The goals. The homeruns. Its what the two guys in the ring are aiming for. Both Mayweather and Pacquiao failed to consistently achieve what they were aiming for, though May did slightly better in most the rounds.
This is coming from a Rigondeaux fan btw.
there's a reason why Floyd landed a career low on Pac. Because if he's facing some other opponent like what Floyd groupies here made out to be, he'll have a field day tearing Pac apart late in the rounds
