I don't recall Pacquiao doubling over in a panicky shell Amir Khan style whilst Mayweather teed off on him. I don't recall Pacquiao ever being really moved by Floyd's punches. Every time Pacquiao landed a solid blow he seemed to at least make an impact.

If (huge if) Pacquiao was legitimately suffering from an injured shoulder (and they should release scans / medical reports etc if so) then it could be construed as actually not a particularly convincing win for Mayweather.

I seem to have watched a different fight to most people though. I thought Floyd was pretty inaccurate, his main asset being able to stay at distance behind the jab (the counter to which would be a right hook BTW) and winning rounds on activity rather than quality punching.

Don't get me wrong, I had it 9-3 Floyd and it was an easy fight to score. However I didn't think he was "dominant" nor particularly far ahead in most of the rounds won. Pacquiao ceded the opening 3 on activity and only really looked out of ideas late on.

Funny how Maidana did better than I thought he would and Manny did worse than I thought he would.

Mayweather landed about 20 more power punches than MP, but landed many more jabs than he did. This is partially why I do agree with you. Yes the scoring obviously favored Mayweather and that was fair. I had it 8-4 but 9-3 isn't necessarily out of the question. But while the round counts were wide there were a handful of rounds that you had to give to floyd for landing some tepid punches with Pacquiao barely doing much which doesn't feel like floyd "schooling" Pacquiao as so many seem to call it. The win didn't feel as decisive as the scoring ended up being. Mayweather made pac hesitant and made pac miss, but he himself also didn't have an outstanding performance and didn't land all that many quality shots.

In short, I was underwhelmed by both fighters. A rematch would attract less attention and sell at a lower price, but it might still pay more than Khan.

EDIT: Yeah I also agree that of the few flush shots Pac got in, they did generally seem to hurt Floyd. If Pac can reasonably get more of those in, then he might be a real problem for him. On that night, it was clear Floyd won but a rematch doesn't seem totally absurd though there are a few potential alternative competitors.

Floyd senior - Don't call Boxing Fans booing your son a "bunch of asses" without them, who's gonna buy tickets to watch your son fight Pacman?

Without Boxing Fans, Floyd Jr won't earned millions of dollars.

Pac is a great fighter, but that all he would ever be is a great fighter, along with great fighters like Tyson and a long list of them. Mayweather is the best boxer of this era pound for pound, easily.
The Tyson part isn't accurate. He was Also a boxer early in his career. Just a very aggressive one with an aggressive style.

I wouldn't mind a rematch. Even if Manny was injured and comes in at xloser to 100% in a 2nd fight people need to remember that counterpunchers do better in remarches. Floyd was very comfortable in their on the late rounds. He had his hands down and i rt was looking a bit like the Guerrero fight. In a rematch he can get to that comfort level and be more aggressive earlier in the fight. That means more straight rights to the body. Manny didn't like getting touched to the body at all. Also more right uppercuts and right hooks. This will vary the straoght right attack to the head and Pac wpuld get hit.more.

The only issue is that if the injury is indeed legit it is going to be too long for manny to come back.

"Floyd is just like me, he never gets an accolade from anybody. I never get the type of accolade (Pacquiao's trainer) Freddie Roach is getting and Freddie Roach is a joke, blowing smoke, with no hope."
Senior had to sneak in a little poem at the end caught me by surprise because he sounded serious prior to the poem. That fool is funny.

agreed, no interest in watching Floyd dominate #48 again. It was totally one sided. And to all you experts talking about Floyd running, clearly shows you know nothing about boxing. Oscar vs Trinidad is running. What Floyd did is call distance control Or ring general ship which is a scoring criteria. He controlled the fight.

Couldn't Manny, with his "great" foot speed cut off the ring or stop Floyd from spinning to his left off the ropes, over and over again. With that "great" foot speed, all he had to do was step quick and hard to his right, but he didn't do it.

PAC and his team was embarrassed, not injuried, embarrassed.

And I agree with Floyd. If you can't accept your lost, then that's a cowardly act. I agree with Paulie, you're a sore loser.
