Any thoughts on this fight? It would be a battle between two undefeated fighters. In addition, it has all the potential of a huge promotional build up leading up to this bout and what better way for Floyd Mayweather, Jr. to exit the sport against a rising young boxer with star quality and who is undefeated other than a Danny "Swift" Garcia; Given his current resume of current and future champions and Hall of Famers?

In my eyes it makes perfect sense.
A farewell fight, against a good undefeated fighter who's semi known so it would do decent numbers (Guerrero, Madiana level) and stylisctally suits him.
He's just had the biggest fight ever. Nothing he does now will come close.
Mayweather has the 3 biggest earning fights of all time. His last fight the money isn't an issue.
Which is why I think he's vacated the belts.Comment

Garcia is coming off a poor performance and has done nothing at 147. He does have a good resume but the timing isn't right. After he beat Matthysse would have been the perfect time.Comment

I don't think that really matters now.
I doubt this last fight is a big fight. Floyd just wants to get it out the way and finish the contract.Comment

I agree. Cotto would be a perfect match for Floyd Mayweather if he can't land a Danny Swift fight because not only Miguel is a huge draw with star power but also Money May can make history by winning a sixth world title in six different weight classes and what a way for him to retire from the sport undefeated while adding another trinket to his legacy in the process?Comment

Absolutely atrocious fight, he made Lamont Peterson look like Mayweather, it would look like Floyd was fighting an amateur.Comment

I understand what you are saying and it is absolutely true. However, Danny has defeated every opponent that has ever been placed in front of him; Good or bad and yet the fact remains he is still undefeated. I think he has earned his stripes and his dues and personally I believe his shot at Mayweather is long over due.
Furthermore, if he does decide to move up to welterweight and Floyd decides not to move up to middleweight to challenge for a title; I still think he is more deserving of a Floyd fight than a Keith Thurman, Amir Khan or Kell Brook for that matter. He has fought and defeated better fighters on his resume than all those previous fighters I mentioned combined.Comment
