Roach has to say that as his trainer but i think he knows deep down it would be a brutal fight for Cotto. I agree Floyd has a better shot than Cotto.

Would I give Floyd a chance in that fight? Yup, the speed difference dynamic is rather large between them (think Hagler-Leonard). Floyd would have to stay on his toes all 12 rounds though as GGG would not give him any rest at all. Floyd would have to fight the fight of his life to make it 12. He would get trapped at times and that could spell trouble.

As for GGG, I am not sure if he is doing it on purpose or not, but his hand speed seems to be slowing a bit compared to a few years ago.

With that said, I think this dude can beat GGG

He clearly hasn't lost his legs, seems he just chooses when to use them, that kind of lateral movement without any certain rhythm, with a large ring like last night, would make it very very difficult for GGG to land anything big on him

I'm not one of those people who thinks the size disparity would make that much of a difference in this fight, Floyd is a pretty big 147 (I can't think of anybody at 147 who's clearly bigger than Floyd is, key word being "Clearly")

I'd love to see this fight, beating GGG would be easily the biggest win of his career without a doubt

GGG is my 2nd fav fighter right now, so I'm being painfully honest here even for my own good lol

As a Mayweather fan GGG would hurt Floyd....badly!!! He's too big and far too strong. Couple that with the fact he can actually box and deliver on these advantages he would crush Floyd! It's a bridge too far.

GGG beats Mayweather into submission. Mayweather doesn't have enough pop to keep him offf and you can't throw 300 punches against a guy like GGG. Mayweather wins the prize of the most holds in a fight against GGG. Actually GGG WOULD JUST THROW HIM OFF.

Sure you can throw 300 punches against GGG, it just won't get you very far. Murray threw 469 over 11 rounds. The problem is actually landing your shots, Murray landed only 131 out of those 469. On the other side, GGG threw 816 and landed 292, 220 of which were power punches. People love to claim that GGG is easy to hit and that Murray hit him all night long whereas the stats simply prove that to be incorrect. If you only land 19 jabs against a fighter over 11 rounds, he is not easy to hit.

By the way, I am not disagreeing with your post at all, I agree with it completely. Especially regarding what would happen if Mayweather attempted to clinch and hold. Murray tried that for the first couple of rounds and GGG threw him off with ease and then hammered him with a couple of shots for good measure. Murray gave up on that tactic pretty quickly.

If Floyd was ever to fight GGG, I think the fight would be over as soon as Golovkin lands his first clean shot.

The Monroe fight should tell us something about where Golovkin is at cutting off the ring at this point in his career, this will be the first genuine mover he has fought on a high level.

If Golovkin cuts off the ring and knocks him out early, I wouldn't give Floyd a prayer but if Monroe can go 12 and frustrate Golovkin a case can at least be made although realistically there's zero chance of the bout eventuating, tough enough getting him in with Pac years later.

I agree with you. Floyd will have all the negotiation power and will get a huge ring, **** with his gloves and blood drain him, while taking undetectable peds and get a 153 catch weight as well.
