I'm what people on this site would call a mayweather fan (debatable)... Ok... That being said.

If GGG could make 54 without it affecting him he would spell all types of trouble for Floyd. He would do all the things Manny was supposed to but no one with half a brain honestly believed he would.

GGG is hungry as all hell, won't respect Floyd's power, will **** him to the body relentlessly, it would be a tough fight I don't know if Floyd can hang with GGG at this point. But neither can any other welter in the world including some of the bigger ones...

Thinking about it more I think this would be a total disaster for Floyd. Whatever you make of GGG's skills his power is undeniable. This man seriously hurts much bigger men than Floyd every time he fights. Sure none of these men are as talented as Floyd, but Floyd's talent would be nullified by the sheer power, strength, and size advantage Golovkin would have. Mayweather gets caught in every fight, less than most, but it won't take a lot of shots for Golovkin to seriously hurt Floyd.

canelo is the same size as GGG, GGG has a few inches in height but they're the same "size"

he hurts bigger men who are defensively irresponsible, who don't move around, and/or have been knocked out already in their career

i'll say this right now, it would take a guy much bigger than GGG to beat floyd via brute force. the two guys aren't that far apart in weight despite what you might think. there are much greater disparities at cruiser and heavyweight.

I won't argue that Golovkin's competition has been stellar, it hasn't. I disagree that it would take someone bigger than Golovkin to brute force Floyd, because we saw Maidana have a lot of success doing just that. Canelo tried to box with Floyd, he did not use his size advantage well.

A part of me does, then another part of me is like all he's gonna accomplish is getting seriously hurt. I'd rather Thurman who I consider a threat.

a few inches in height is a big deal, and the power levels and skill levels between the two arent even close. Golovkin has the power to hurt 175 pounders. His last opponent had never been knocked down or knocked out, and he knocked him down 3 times and had him running away and still knocked him out. along with that he hit him so hard that murray legitimately could not remember the second or last knockdown. Golovkin is just too much

                      Nah man.

That's WAY too much size and skill he's giving up. Every punch on the arm is gonna feel heavy. The shot that Manny buzzed Floyd with yesterday puts him on his ass or out if it's GGG.
