    Cotto rematch please

Firstly I don't pick or bet against Floyd Mayweather I have the highest level of respect for his ability as a fighter.

He is a great fighter, an ATG, all that and people are correct in he bides his time to fight certain fighters etc I agree but the problem as I said before is you are too desperate to see him lose hype the wrong opponents. The Manny fight always had too happen and he is a great fighter but he never did possess what was needed to dethrone Floyd. Taking nothing away from Floyd, great win just never was going to be the one to do it.

I can only assume you're already hyping the next opponent after claiming 8+ of his last 12 opponents will beat him and the person is probably a no hoper like Keith Thurman. ''He young, he prime, he slick and meditates Floyd is scurred''. He has no chance. None, nil, zilch, nada. Just like Canelo & all of them.

It will take an elite pressure fighter. A guy who can do it is Miguel Cotto in a rematch IF he pressures from the start, IF he is in the shape of his life then some. Why Cotto? He figured him out and Floyd did not adjust the only reason he came back strong was because Cotto faded bad after putting so much in.

Why does he beat or at least give him the toughest fight of his life? He has an educated jab, his timing, his strength, what he now knows.

He needs to jab him to the ropes. He is the only guy who didn't smother himself when he did this. He is the only guy who ever realised what Floyds defense is. People are concerned of getting around it & so on.
I don't care who you are, how fast you are if you are throwing left, right, left, right or the right hand followed by a left then the right & so on you won't get through. His defense is a sequence. In order to beat him you need to double and triple up your punches and vary the speed of your shots! That is the blueprint.
Watch the Cotto fight. He has no success he trebles the jab centre ring getting through on the third. Floyd acknowledged it and nodded. That was a nod of appreciation realising he was a bit more intelligent than the guys he was used to fighting.
He took that on board when he got Floyd on the ropes and that is why he was getting through. He wasn't throwing predictable flurries. He'd step back and double & triple up careful of the counter right hand. Him trebling up on the jab, putting the left hook behind the jab and so on disrupted Floyds offense not allowing him to get his counters off.
That was the only time I've ever seen Floyd lost for ideas. I didn't see an adjustment.
Maidana did so well he almost did everything right in the first fight but at the same time did everything wrong. If he was a bit more intelligent then maybe he'd of edged it.

People like to mock Floyd fans, call them ****** etc but they know boxing. They know who is and who isn't a real threat to their fighter. People can laugh but why do you think they was so relieved Lucas lost to Garcia? Say whatever but that guy is another with a style to give Floyd big ****ing problems. Just because a guy losses to a lesser fighter than another don't mean ****.
People say oh this guy isn't a draw and so on. Hey if you bought his fights and hyped him like you do with others he'd be a draw.

Forget Lara, very tough fight but he is too basic.
    Khan is interesting.
But Cotto if he pressures and is in the shape of his life, he has the best shot by far.
Lucas is another tough fight from a stylistic standpoint & his power is a threat to absolutely anybody around that weight but he is far more than just a puncher. My only concern is he has a good jab but he often doesn't tend to pressure behind it. I'd still love to see that fight.
Best shot out there right now is Miguel Cotto and it'll give Floyd a chance to grab a 13th belt in 6 classes.

My God, I wish Golovkin was a little smaller than he is.

Mayweather does better in the rematches , though. Castillo, Maidana - it took Floyd a little longer than it usually does to adjust but he eventually does adjust.

But yeah, I wanna see him fight someone with decent jab, I just don't think Cotto is the man.

Besides, Diva is supposedly fighting Canelo next (if he beats Geale, which isn't a sure thing).

I don't know how Roc Nation and Haymon will work for this fight.
Not to mention HBO had a deal in place to make sure Canelo was next in line for Cotto.

That would be interesting. He has the style and wouldn't give him too much respect, massive power but I'd be worried he was a bit too slow and open. The again I thought Maidana was too slow & open and he had very good success. Carries his left low and brings it back low too, perfect for Floyds signature right hand.

We need to come up with a way to shrink him.

Maidana missed the opportunity to take the donut

Cotto I agree is a threat but Floyd figured him out late in that fight. He's too smart and adjusts too well to lose in rematches.

              Lara isn't diverse enough offensively.

              Khan..... No

              Thurman.... No

              Garcia....No

It's over. He'll retire 49-0 and deservingly so.

Cotto wants to get paid though so that's a way for him to get his retirement check.

I don't like the fight though.

Before the Pac fight I was outraged when I thought this was going to happen, but now its the only meaningful fight left for Floyd.

Thurman would never even touch him. Khan gets KO'd by one of those ridiculously fast right hands that stopped Manny in his tracks. That speed/power was really impressive..
