It is quite a funny attitude towards a fight for Floyd, I agree. I do not think there is any conspiracy to it though, just I can not help but think floyd has come out with some things lately that are not like him at all. What this means is another matter, but still, the point remains that Floyd IS saying weird things. It is as though he is setting the foundations for the end of his road. Saying things like if he loses then he is still a winner at life etc...And all that admitting that his 'Pretty Boy' and 'Money' personas where not himself and just business moves that should be respected etc and "Before and after the fight, I am still The Best Ever. One fight doesn't define my career". I do not like to over analyse comments but come on, all this type of stuff screams out, 'even if I lose I still command your respect'. Which may be true, yes...But why say it now?

Why would you wait till a couple of weeks before your biggest night to come out with things that suggest you have got a kind of, 'well I had a good run, but...' mentality?

I don't know man, not saying Floyd is shook or that it will have any bearing on the fight at all, but it is weird and totally not what you would expect. Some of the stuff he has said lately is the type of thing you would expect from his retirement speech.

It is weird as f**k, I agree. Extremely un-Floyd like. The thought of even losing for the old Floyd was probably blasphemous to him, but now he's openly talking about how he'll handle a loss, how he should still be perceived after a loss, etc.

That is exactly what I mean man, I just went on a little!

Basically a few years ago while they where still circling each other, if you mentioned the idea of him losing to Pacquiao he would have shut you down instantly...Now it is signed and less than a week away, he brings up losing HIMSELF.

He really might as well have just said "Hey, this guy might actually get me, but I am still damn good so don't forget that if he does".

Floyd is going into this fight with a chip on his shoulder. Despite owing showtime one more fight, he may very well retire after this fight. I think he has recognized his inability to turn from sports heel to sports hero and is truly not enjoying it anymore. He has tried for several fights (since Alvarez or Guerrero fight) to show himself in a better light, but the vitriol, disdain and overall perceived lack of respect for his achievements still remains.

I think his comments have way more to do with that than some perceived fear he has about Manny.

the way floyd is approaching this fight to me it seems a lot like how bradley approach the pac rematch. bradley got so much hate for the gift decision in the first fight that in the rematch it seems like bradley made up his mind that he lost the fight already but he's still going thru with it to earn the respect from the fans since he got so much hate the first time around. but like i said this is only my opinion.

                    Floyd already thinking about losing

                    He's slowed down big time
