Why don't people acknowledge Joe Calzaghes Undefeated record?

It's just down to level of competition. I believe he was the real deal but he just never put the names on his record to show it. His win over a prime undefeated Kessler is a very good win. When you consider Froch went life and death with a past prime Kessler and lost one of those.
People call his win over Lacy over rated but hindsight is 20-20. Lacy was so hyped and was favourite going in to that fight. Calzaghe ruined his career. It's alright looking back and saying Lacy was overrated but you judge a fight on the time it happened and at the time Lacy was seen as the man. So you have to give Calzaghe credit, not dis-credit Lacy.
I believe he would have beaten a lot good names, but i'm not sure he had the desire to even try.
Oh, and the fact he's not American probably doesn't help....Last edited by deathofaclown; 04-28-2015, 05:04 PM.Comment

Because no boxing fan condones anyone punching like that.
Sure it worked out for him and good for him but lets hope no one ever tries to make that work again.Comment

He was actually a good puncher early in his career. Even Eubank said he had never been hit so hard when Joe dropped him in the first round. His hands were a big problem after that though.Comment

Still, a good portion of his career his punches looked awful. Maybe they were scoring points but no self respecting boxing person is ever bringing up the punching form of Joe Calzaghe.
If people don't respect how someone punches even if it works, that is an uphill climb to respecting someone as a fighter.Comment

I would change up your rankings
The bika and lacy wins are better than the win over older faded shot EubanksComment
