Comments Thread For: Hearns Says Mayweather Must Take Risks, Please Fans
Collapse
-
Mayweather is very capable of tuning out other people's voices and concerns. So, I don't think Hearns or anyone else calling him out to put on a great fight for the fans, will affect how he will fight at all.
It took so long for this fight to be made, with the sporting world calling for him to fight Pacquiao for years. He didn't worry about that. A chance encounter at a basketball game was the impetus for this. Although, I don't believe in coincidences. Universal forces aligned to create the chance encounter. Without that, he would have casually continued and never had the fight.
He talked mucho smack prior to the DeLaHoya fight and others about how he would destroy the opposition and the outcome was a rather boring decision win. He is talking zero smack now, but suddenly, he is going to transform in a battling gladiator, willing to risk getting himself hurt to put on a good show. I doubt it.
His rationale is probably something like. "Ya'll wanted this. I'll show up and gladly accept the $100 million or whatever, but I am not getting myself all messed up for it."
I do not know who is on the undercard, but I expect those fights to be more action packed than the main event. If this fight has some good moments, I'll be semi-satisfied. I am absolutely not expecting great action round after round. I do not think Mayweather can win a decision without taking a lot of risk and that is why I don't think he will.Last edited by NEELZ; 04-26-2015, 10:14 AM.

according to a recent profile in New York magazine, Pacquiao is under investigation, in the United States and at home, for millions of dollars in unpaid taxes. He has a child with a woman — not his wife — whom he refuses to acknowledge or support financially. He once slapped a trusted aide for neglecting to put warm milk in his broth.
He beats and bullies his employees, is a dead beat dad....this guy is a big disappointment. So you guys think its wrong for me to state the truth about those guys eating Fido, and Spot when they do? THEY are the ones that are eating pets not me. I bet you wouldnt let pac or buboy pet sit your dog. lolMatthysse admits he eats pets (iguana) and you guys hold it up as something cool, maybe Pac eats Pitbulls for their tight muscles or Rottweilers, maybe he thought thats what americans meant by eating hotDogs. Thank god they didnt say raw dogs...

Hearns was a terrific boxer, and he might have beat Hagler by establishing his boxing before going for the kill.
So I don't think Hearns has a good argument here.

"No one can tell me what to do, I am my own boss. No disrespect to Thomas Hearns but he lost everytime he stepped up. I'm 47-0 and he lost 5 times.. You can't tell me he's greater than me."
