LOL can somebody just call the police and have them arrest Klitchko for impersonating a Heavyweight Champion already? Confiscate the belts and deport the big flop back to Germany. New York seriously you let this guy just come and go?
Oh come on.. US fight fans especially should be pleased: Thompson will no longer be considered the top US HW.
I think Wlad finally showed his Age tonight. Hes on the decline. His reign will be over soon, it wont take long! Cant wait! Im gonna celebrate the day he retires but it would be nice to see him retire after a some whooped his ass really bad. Klitschko vs. Wilder is gonna be VERRY interesting...
Most of those clinches later on weren't even initiated by Wlad. Hell, he held his arms up at one point and Jennings still had his head under his arm.
It's like he said in the interview, a shorter guy tried to dig underneath him and that's what happens. NOW maybe if Wlad was ****** and got into a shell when a fighter got in close, his opponents could tee off on him like he were Joshua Clottey, but that's not how it works.
With that said, Wlad did say in one of the interviews that fighters are studying him and that he needs to evolve. I don't know if it's possible at age 40 but who knows.
I saw him throw a few Kovalev style jabs to Jenning's body. Maybe he should start working on that and mix up his jab a lot more. Its not like he needs it in every fight but styles make fights and being stoic didn't work against this type of style.
What Wlad does is cheating....keep making all the excuses you want but if he didn't hold(cheat) he would lose very easily
Everybody sh-tting on Wladimir for clinching. .but the fighter that's called the "greatest" (Ali) was the clinch master.
Wlad has the best jab of any heavyweight ever. And arguably the best right cross. Give that man his props.
fanboys eh? Best jab ever? Never hear of Larry Homes no? Best right cross? Emmm, Lennox Lewis ****s on Wlad's right hand.
Yes Ali cheated to, when his legs couldn't move any more he started holding which is illegal in boxing and he is not the greatest, why are you making excuses?

What is hilarious, is that a lot of the same people, who bash Klichko, turn around and praise Andre Ward for holding, calling it "slick" or whatever...

No Wlad showed when he can't hold all the time he's more vulnerable. With a ref like last night Povetkin would have given Wlad a serious test.
He did tie up Jennings in clinches but you have to work through that. That said I thought Jennings was very good, head movement and feet excellent, showed good chin, but never came out his shell enough. Never put a dent in Wlad at any stage. Wlad was getting to him at the end I thought when he did try and press it. You open up on Wladimir you tend to get knocked out, and Jennings wasn't prepared to go there until very late. You can hide behind a high guard all night but it won't get a win vs a guy like Wlad.
Jennings won no more then 2 rounds, this is ridiculous. You are just like the fans who knee-jerkingly gave Delahoya more rounds against Floyd then he actually won.
The referee was as fair as he could be, any more warnings or points being taken off (often for clinches that were initiated by Jennings himself, one of them where Wlad had both arms up in the air to prove him point, while Jennings had his arms wrapped around him) and the referee would be considered a biased activist ref on a mission to screw Wlad for past discretion's.

I think Wlad's reputation for holding and spoiling came back to haunt him in this one and Jennings realised that and exploited it.
Jennings wasn't even trying to fight on the inside, apart from a few token arm punches around Wlad's kidneys. He never once tried the uppercuts he'd been talking about using.
Beating Wlad up on the inside was obviously not part of his game plan. It looked to me like what he was trying to do was test Wlad's chin by catching him with hard punches as they came in to each other, either rushing in himself or retreating and drawing Wlad on.
He tried that over and over again, and each time it didn't work he was quite happy to just put his head down, lean on Wlad and wait for the ref to call break and give Wlad another warning for holding.
jennings was the one initiating most of the holding, wlad was just tall, wilder or fury will get koed with that leaping left hook, a very ideal punch for tall opponents
Both Wilder and Fury are taller than Klitschko, and both have longer reach. Neither needs to jump in against him at tall, and both are tall enough he'll have a hard time pushing down on them. Either could beat him, neither probably will. Fury has never been in good shape and his jab looks like a cat pawing at something, but he is three inches taller than Vlad and has a 5 inch reach advantage. Wilder maybe has a chance, he has power and is fairly athletic with a 2" reach advantage and 1" taller. Vlad may be spending some of his fight against either one of these guys crouching and getting pushed down on.
