Comments Thread For: Mansour on What Jennings Needs To Do To Beat Klitschko

While preparing for his own bout on May 8, heavyweight Amir Mansour (21-1, 16 KOs) will be keeping a close eye on this Saturday’s world title clash between Wladimir Klitschko and Bryant Jennings.

Mansour is of the opinion that Philadelphia’s Bryant can cause a huge surprise if he employs the right tactics against Klitschko.

“I think any good fighter can beat Wladimir if they execute their game plan properly,” said Mansour to BoxingScene.com.

I always say this, if you fight at the end of Klitschko's jab you will lose. You have to fight him the way Corrie Sanders and Lamont Brewster did, attack and get inside.

Agreed, I like Wlad but I'm sort of pulling for the underdog here.

But if you get inside with Wlad, you get held and smothered. At least, that's what's been happening for the past 10 years.

But will Wlad be allowed to hold and smother Jennings in an American ring if he needs to?

That's one of the questions that make this an interesting fight. The other is whether Jennings longer reach will be a match for Wlad's height and footwork on the outside.

You want him at mid range. Unfortunately these hws of today don't know how to slip a jab nevermind what an uppercut is.

Reach is very misleading ,height and how a fighter fights in his style also play a role ,longer arms dont necessarily mean you have the reach advantage .Whats also misleading is everyone thinking Wlad needs to hold ,he will simply just end the fight early if he doesnt hold ,way to much power i think for anyone in line for him if he abandons the extra holding .If i were Jennings i would jump right on him and fight a 2 round fight and throw it all out there because once Wlad gets in rythm its end game anyway tonight .
