Money changes people and robs them of their dignity. Ward was all about family and morals and whatnot til he tasted a couple big paychecks. Now he's all about lawsuits and race baiting interviews. He's trying very hard to be Floyd.

Actually what I think is happening with Ward is that his entire career he's been entitled. Picking and choosing, fighting always in US and Oakland during the super 6. Now HBO is asking him to face somebody good and he feels like his entitlement has been taken away. I mean if he could do it like Mayweather and fight whoever he wants to fight on pay per view then fine, but he's not at that level.

I like Andre Ward but this interview is just pathetic. Miranda was supposed to win against him? Nobody wanted to fight Allen Green? They were the boogie men and he's comparing them to Kovalev? The guy is so inconsistent with his statements and he's attributing it to being black and saying that him, Floyd and Bernard are being treated different.

First off Bhop fought everyone, not just Froch and Kessler.
Second, Floyd fights whoever he pleases for the biggest purses.
So where does this leave Dre - he doesn't fight everybody and he doesn't fight for the biggest purses so he's salty.

Man what is it with black fighters and being salty? What is it with black men all over U.S whining about some hidden agenda against them just cause they are black. They get the most money in sports, most accolades, most awards and exposure and they still crying.

You're upset because he spoke the truth? He's not supposed to expose the not so hidden agenda that people hold for black athletes, especially in boxing? Case and point, the same people that claim to hate Floyd and Broner for being "ignorant, loud and ****y", also hate Ward. Why? He's well spoken, clean cut, and humble? Yet he's hated by those same people? Think about it for a second.

I watched the video and listened to what Ward had to say, and when I read these comments it took me a couple of minutes to figure out what the heck you guys were going on about.

Then I got it - you are assuming that the different standards and expectations Ward is talking about are a reference to his race.

I disagree with that interpretation. I think he is just saying that boxing fans expect more from elite, P4P fighters like him and Floyd than they expect from other fighters, and that sometimes those expectations are unrealistic.

I knew Andre's dad was white but I'd never seen a photo of him till now. Andre is the spitting image of his old man, and how can any man possibly belong to a different race than his own father?

I'm not saying that Ward is white. But in truth, there is only one race of human beings living on this planet, and we all belong to it.
