To simply turn the other cheek and say "Ward is just pulling the race card" is pure ignorance. If you don't acknowledge the fact that African American athletes face harder challenges than those of other backgrounds then I don't know what to tell you. You're letting your blind hatred and ignorance get to you. It's unfortunate what we go through, but it's best to acknowledge it than to just ignore it and hope it goes away. It will never go away on its own.
Ward, BHOP, and Floyd can tell you about these struggles because they have lived them, you have not. You have NO say on this subject.

He will get to 175 eventually but I think waiting for GGG possibly at 168 is the better move right now because GGG is the bigger name and has the most Buzz.
Ward will EXPOSE THEM ALL and after he does it will only CEMENT HIS LEGACY and he will get the Last Laugh...I GUARANTEE IT!

He's just a troll anyway, he's been here before.
As a black man, I support GGG and Kovalev. They have exciting styles. That's all that matters in my book. I wish both were black, but I ain't trippin.

His whining would have some merit if he hadn't spent the better part of eighteen months actively calling out a fighter below his weight class to jump up in weight to fight him.
It's like Hagler and his fanatics whining about fighters not moving up in weight to fight him. Reference Michael Spinks and suddenly weight classes are the most important thing in the world.

Miranda was supposed to win against him? Nobody wanted to fight Allen Green? They were the boogie men and he's comparing them to Kovalev? The guy is so inconsistent with his statements and he's attributing it to being black and saying that him, Floyd and Bernard are being treated different.
First off Bhop fought everyone, not just Froch and Kessler.
Second, Floyd fights whoever he pleases for the biggest purses.
So where does this leave Dre - he doesn't fight everybody and he doesn't fight for the biggest purses so he's salty.
Man what is it with black fighters and being salty? What is it with black men all over U.S whining about some hidden agenda against them just cause they are black. They get the most money in sports, most accolades, most awards and exposure and they still crying.
I thought Ward was better...Originally posted by Obayifo View PostYou're upset because he spoke the truth? He's not supposed to expose the not so hidden agenda that people hold for black athletes, especially in boxing? Case and point, the same people that claim to hate Floyd and Broner for being "ignorant, loud and ****y", also hate Ward. Why? He's well spoken, clean cut, and humble? Yet he's hated by those same people? Think about it for a second.
Then I got it - you are assuming that the different standards and expectations Ward is talking about are a reference to his race.
I disagree with that interpretation. I think he is just saying that boxing fans expect more from elite, P4P fighters like him and Floyd than they expect from other fighters, and that sometimes those expectations are unrealistic.
I knew Andre's dad was white but I'd never seen a photo of him till now. Andre is the spitting image of his old man, and how can any man possibly belong to a different race than his own father?
I'm not saying that Ward is white. But in truth, there is only one race of human beings living on this planet, and we all belong to it.Last edited by kafkod; 04-25-2015, 12:15 AM.
