Any real boxing fans on here that aren't race supporters or am I the only one?

You're one of the few if true.

Race/Flag/Area play a huge deal with fans.

there aren't many middle eastern fighters so i usually have to roll with the russians and mexicans

on the flip side when I see a middle aged white guy from kansas who's obsessed with floyd mayweather to near sexual levels and "Raising the roof" in a TMT shirt in the crowd it does weird me out

just do me a favor and stay racist so you don't become that guy

True and this won't change until the principles of boxing change because, in its current state, boxing is entirely about nationality, flag waving, and race.

But for people who are able to be more objective fans of the sport, we are able to elude the flag waving and racism. For me, it's more of a style approach that I appreciate.

People tend to feel more intimidated by it more so than when people of other backgrounds band together and support their own.
To be honest it's pretty much equal on here between all races backing their own ie.blacks, whites, mexicans, ricans etc tend to be strongly biased. (esp blacks ricans and mexicans). But I remember 7 years ago here in the UK all my black classmates were rooting for Floyd ahead of their so called "countryman", that kinda stuck with me.

So you believe that Caucasian American males should not appreciate Floyd even though they are both American? Why does it bother you so much?

i dont care for ur race, i'm all about character of a boxer and what he puts in

ive hated certain boxers in the past and then later they won me over

There would be less "defending" one's own race, if there was less nonsense and double standards coming from the other side. "His eye doe..." People are always so quick to convince themselves, that everyone ELSE is "biased" and that they themselves are unbiased. Hilarious, I know...

That said, boxing IS a national sport and the only people who won't admit this, are those with no real national roots in the sport. I am on record and I will say it again. I will always root for the PR against a non rican. Makes the fight that much more interesting for me.

Racial pride in many cases sells tickets, and race is used by Promoters as a marketing tool to sell the event. So, it is unlikely that this will change, since the proper manipulation of racial differences, of-times turns a common card into a great rivalry.
