That's not how the Boone KD happened though. He's talking about someone else. The Boone KD didn't come during a break.

I know that's not what happened. He's taking out of his ass. But I've seen him say that's why he was knocked down against Boone, because the referee called break and he thought it was going to be like how it was in the amateurs.

I can't remember what interview it was off the top of my head, but if it comes to me later I'll post it.

Ward fought the Super Six, dominated that tournament, dominated Chad Dawson, and then kind of languished for a bit (having the Kelly Pavlik fight fall through multiple times, and getting nipped with his own injury didn't help much). Even during that downtime, Goossen didn't have the wherewithal to help keep Ward's face in the public space; most of the attention that Ward was able to get, came largely from his own efforts, if we're being honest.

You add that Goossen wasn't able to really close on any other fights, and the frustrations set in pretty quickly (think that there was also some issues with some co-promotional money being an issue).

Folks also seem to forget that Ward got, I believe $1.5m for the Super Six finale, before being wooed to HBO, likely with the pay raise drawn in; to put that on Goossen is a bit much.

Why do you feel the need to lie so damn much? It's not respectable at all.

There was no controversy and Ward was not even a well known fighter at the time.
