If that changes, maybe there's a fight.
why would Michel negotiate for a smaller purse for his fighter? Come on dude, that's ******ed.

    why would duva do that?

    • Can we please move on and bury this fight once and for all? I mean what's the effing point?

How many years do people have to talk about this damn fight?

You don't seem to understand that an HBO contract is a huge prize both for Main Events and a guy like Kovalev. It really is, Stevenson's rating went down like 50% in his first fight off HBO, and kept plummeting. Unlike Kov, he could be making tons locally, but he's not cause he fights scrubs.
No offer from HBO, so why you keep asking that question makes no sense.

No his ratings didn't. He just had one of the 3 most watched fights in the past year, against Bika, on CBS.

What about Adonis do you want to discuss that hasn't been already? why are you not skewering Kov as you did Adonis?
You know the reason why: The Russian (that one with the money) pulled out just after the oil price went sharply down and the Rouble got badly hit by the Western economic sanctions. Russians are foolishly proud and don't like to be cornered.

LOL. After reading GODFR33 call George Foreman a fanboy because he said Floyd is better than ali, all I can do is laugh.

If he wants it, he'll get an offer after the IBF mando. They can come to an agreement sooner, if Kov comes through here's the money on offer. But they have to want to negotiate and not walk away for more scrubs.

He did 1.3m on CBS. That's pathetic no matter the timeslot, he did that vs Bellew on HBO. He also failed to sell 5k tickets in his boxing crazy hometown. Thats miserable.

Are you saying he offered to fight Kovalev on Showtime instead of HBO back then?

You really have to read it.
Like I said, I don't know which article you are referring too.

Whatever, Stevenson ran away from the fight completely last year. There was no alternative offer made to Kovalev and Duva, just a statement that Superduck wanted to fight Hopkins instead, which turned out to be bull****.

Kovalev isn't rejecting or running away from the fight now. He just can't do it with Showtime because of his HBO contract. Whether you think he was right to stay with HBO is another question.

Fact is, the fight is still there on the table if Stevenson wants it. Kovalev never had that choice last year, so the two situations are completely different.

Main Events have just delivered us Hopkins v Kovalev, and Pascal v Kovalev inside 6 months. Did you not want those fights? Did you not enjoy those fights? But we're supposed to hammer on Duva who sent her fighter into the opponent's back yard multiple times to put them on? I trust they want the fight, their track record demonstrates it, just not on Haymon TV owing primarily to their association with HBO.
What does any of this have to do with Duva lying to the public now?

Have you read her press release for why she is ducking the purse bids?

Is she spinning our wheels yes or no? Do you really believe that the exchange rate plays a part in this fight gets made yes or no?

If not, why arent YOU calling her out for misleading the public?

And CBS didn't pay for it.

If Michel wants to get an American television network to pay for this fight, he could start by seeing what HBO's offering.
