Duva also wrote to Michel and outlined a proposal to make the fight without the purse bid but insisting the fight be on HBO

Outlining is not making an official offer.
Of course they're not gonna make an offer till Kov gets through his mando. GYM just needs to sit down with Duva and HBO, but seems like they're not interested and would rather fight more scrubs for less money and less viewers

I'm sure he got a great deal with his new HBO contract. Not outrageous, but he brings no fans of his own, so has to fight in other guys hometowns and concede A-side advantage. Stevenson OTOH could be a major local draw if he'd stop with very low risk/low reward fights. Kovalev on HBO would do wonders for him.

So now you are saying the 50/50 deal for HBO hasn't been made yet and will be once Kov defeats his mandatory after arguing Stevenson should take the 50/50 deal on HBO that Duva offered. Dude, you are just making yourself look more and more ******ed by the post.

Kathy wants to make a 50/50 fight on HBO even though a 50/50 fight on NBC would be more lucrative and have more viewers. You are co sighing this.

        wow.

I am not surprised you don't, won't or can't admit it. It would just be nice if you did the same thing you did when Stevenson did similar.
          What Stevenson did was different.

He undertook to fight Kovalev and participated in Duva's plans to build the fight up. He agreed to the terms, purse, and everything else then pulled out with the contracts drawn up and waiting to be signed. He left Duva high and dry and the fans disappointed.

All Kovalev has done is stay loyal to Duva and renew his contract with HBO.

Like Weebler says, the fight is still there on the table if Stevenson wants it.

Stevenson didn't give Kovalev that same option when he jumped ship to Haymon and Showtime last year.

I suggest you read Rick Reeno's write up about what actually happened. Kov signed with HBo instead of trying to make fight on Showtime.

making Kov out to be some innocent loyalist is telling.

Except NBC is impossible and HBO is not. It's the best possible option for both sides. And you are against it. Wow.

Why didn't she check with HBO before going to the WBC?

She says in the article that "Sergey is contractually tied to HBO and we can't go to a purse bid. We can't fight the fight if we lose the bid."

Does this make sense to you?
                  I've read the article before.

What does that have to do with Michel not negotiationg?

Come on man. Stop pretending Duva pulled out because she just didnt know what would happen.

Michel already knows Haymon is ready to put more money into this fight then HBO would. Duva knows that as well. Everybody knows that. Its not a big secret, they are keeping a tight budget and sticking to it.

The fighters lose because that exclusive deal limits their earning power.
Knowing someone "can" outbid doesn't mean they are going to.

Duva doesn't know if she's bidding against SHO or the PBC.

But as of now, there's no evidence this fight will even be on PBC.

                    Michel said:

We want to do the fight but we want to make sure we will be with the television [network] that will believe in that fight the most and then will be willing to put the most money behind the fight
PBC networks aren't actually "putting money behind fights" at the moment, Haymon's investors are.

Michel can negotiate, but their side chose to skip that process and head to purse bid.

When Duva pulled out of purse bid, kov wasn't resigned to HBO. So at that point the best possible option was purse bid winner, 50/50.

Now since she walked away from purse bid and kov resigned, now you want Stevenson to go to HBO for a deal you just acknowledged hasn't been made, because you guess it will be the most lucrative.

                      Yeah, that makes sense.
