... B-Hop withdrew; Pascal withdrew; now Kovalev withdrew...
... Big Adonis may fight Enzo Maccarinelli or Chavez Jr (after he's released from hospital). Or Bute.

But not an option. HBO is viable though, and probably beats the very weak numbers Stevenson posted on network Tv, not to mention pathetic attendance of under 5k

Yvon Michel remains cautious after he saw what happened to Chavez Jr.
Michel still interested in cashing some more from Adonis, before he sucombs into complete irrelevance, due to Al's "intricate business model".

That was on CBS on a Sat afternoon. Surely this fight would be in primetime. Who cares what Stevenson draws, if he fights Kov, more people will show up for Kov.

go through the purse bid and go where the most money is offered. win- win for everyone. more money and exposure for Kov. Kathy surely checked with HBO before asking WBC for purse bid.

Its ok that Kov and HBO do not want to risk losing and don't want to fight. Kov is tough but took a couple shots from Pascal that hurt. Maybe they think Stevenson hits too hard.

Why does it have to go through the purse bid first?

Michel can listen to the Duva/HBO proposal.

Presumably he knows what Haymon's willing to pay for the fight.

Adonis is old by now and only has one punch -- which failed to stop the equally old Bika (who never fought at the LHW).

Maybe so, but Stevenson is the one with the track record of pricing himself out of lucrative but risky fight, like Hopkins, Pascal, Kovalev. Now he's got a50/50 offer vs 3 belt people's champ on Hbo, and its looking like he ll pass to fight another scrub for much less money

Quackenson Team is a disgrace to Canadian boxing.

Purse bid maximizes revenue for the fight. Why does Michel have to listen to Duva/HBO proposal after she positioned Kov for mandatory then withdrew?

Her withdrawal is an acknowledgement that her side will not outbid the other (which is consistent with how Ken Hesrschman and Duva run HBO/Main events respectively).

If HBO had an offer-then Kathy wouldn't have needed to go the purse bid route-which she said she did to make sure Stevenson would be forced into a fight.
