    Well, by today's standards that's a lot and for a split card date.

    Same goes for Chavez/Fonfara

      well, with only +300 million Americans, how many are boxing fans, how many have HBO/Showtime?

      now in my house, we many have only counted as 1 view, but believe me, we were packed in, 20-25 people watched both fights at my house

        Good numbers for two foreign fighters in Matthysse-Provodnikov, fans still recognise a great match-up.

        Would've expected Chavez to go better but 896k peak on Showtime isn't terrible. 618k average not so impressive.

          896 Peak is still pretty good compared to a split network date.

          Not good in comparison to his other fights, but better than any other Showtime fight on a split date....just nowhere near what they should've expected with what they paid him.

          And Showtime paid for this

                Not sure why HBO and Showtime would go head to head like this. If you're gonna do the same date could you possibly make it so the channels don't show events at the same time? Have one channel start at 8pm and the other at 10pm? If they were smart they'd agree to things like this in the future. Everyone wins.

                  Considering that the most viewed fights last year were:
                  @danrafaelespn: Most watched US TV fights of year: 1-Chavez-Vera 2 1.39M, 2-BHop-Kovalev 1.328M, 3-GGG-Rubio 1.304M, 4-Craw-Gamboa 1.208M (all HBO) #boxing:
                  Those figures are pretty damn good. An Argentine and Russian in Verona outdid a Mexican in Los Angeles, that **** cray

                    I watched provo/Matts with 2 of my boys at one's crib and taped both cards at my house.

                    Good numbers IMO.
