Arum has always been fairly honest about Chavez. He admitted he ducked Martinez hard and made up bull**** excuses not to fight him. And after the first Vera fight, he called him a fuck up.

Arum did a pretty incredible job with Chavez. He's always been **** average but he put him in the right fights at the right time and he reached his ceiling in the Martinez fight. He even came out with some credit after that loss with the 12th round and was still a very popular/marketable fighter.

Instead of staying with Arum and fighting Golovkin or Froch in a huge PPV fight....he moves up to LHW to fight an unknown but awkward fighter. Just baffling.

Al Haymon, the new Don King. Chavez shouldn't have fighting at 172, also Fonfara was a punch or 2 away from pulling a great comeback win against Stevenson. I don't see Andre Ward fighting a legit threat after sitting out, why was Chavez, he should have fought a tune up at new weight.
