These guys are supposed to believe that they're the best. Just because Ali and SRR are legends, doesn't mean you're not allowed to think you're better than they are.
    This!!!!

Ali made the same statements about himself, being the GREATEST. If you don't believe, surely no one else will.

I also, hope no one is suggesting that former boxing legends are GOD-Like and therefore cannot be surpassed ..... Then that would be ridiculous.

Sugar Ray Leonard said something similar.

"if you don't think you're the best, you're not a real fighter"

Or something to that effect. It was posted on an article here.

You all have to understand, the same people that think Floyd should acquiesce to the legends and say that they are better than him are the same type of people that have sex with a woman and then think that another man hit it better. It's the same thought process. That is self-defeating beta male hormones talking.

In my opinion, there's no such thing as "the best ever." The winner on May 2 will be considered as the best of this generation and that's it.

Funny you mention people getting emotional over him stating this. Im on facebook and people are calling Floyd out of his name and saying he is so disrespectful.

Ali picked Pacquiao to win and Mayweather didn't like that.

Floyd beat mostly over the hill and subpar guys. But SRR (and even more so) Ali and SRL beat great fighters at their peak.

That's the difference. But Floyd IS great, and has the right to say so more than anyone in his generation. He just lives in a time with no Hearns, Benitez, Duran, et al.

Mayweather said this long before the fight was signed. Long before Ali ever picked anyone.

Mayweather thinks he's the best. And there's nothing wrong with that, ffs.
