Whether Martinez fights again or not he needs a good physical therapist and a good time on physical therapy. Perhaps a good surgeon too. Time to heal too.

oh I know I had that procedure myself. Seems like sergio didn't do ANYTHING to that part of the knee... which if he did just leave it like that over time your meniscus wears down more day by day. Probably why his knee is so damn terrible nearly a year later cuz he still hadn't gotten that part operated.

Martinez got serious injuries after Chavez Jr. The next fight he was lucky it was in Argentina since he actually lost to Murray but the home decision made him keep the title. Later, he had a sort of easy decision: a fight against Rubio with a small purse or a fight against Cotto which allow him to get more money and he even probably though it was going to be easier than Rubio (it probably had been except injuries never went away).

Cash Out fight happened with Cotto

Look, I feel bad for Martinez I do and he is 1 of my favorite fighters and personalities, but I got to honest, You already took advantage of the fans, you had no business going along with the Cotto fight, you weren't even close to 100%, you knew it, your peoples knew it, Cotto knew it, Freddy Roach knew it, ALL PARTIES INVOLVED knew it.

It was your "Cash out" fight, plain and simple, and the fans have already been disrespected by that. So yea don't even think about pulling that BS again because you wont get a pass, not even from the Media who was su****iously quiet the 1st time around, even though it was obvious to the "Real Fans" of boxing as to what was going on .

          Its all about that $$$$$.

          Boom. :ANYWORD:

I've have also had that operation. The way Sergio's joints deteriorated it makes me wonder if he used PEDs. They make you strong but they also make your ligaments brittle. Im not saying he did, but injuries do tempt a lot of athletes do them to recover faster. Sergio's ankles seemed to be the only good joints he had. In his defense I am his age and I had to tone down my training because it is WAY easier to get injured now, and all my old injuries have came back to haunt me.

NBA players tear there meniscus all the time and come back full force to play at the NBA level after surgery. Blake Griffen torn his during practice for team USA which held him out of the Olympics.

They are in their 20s not late 30s. Believe me, you don't heal the same. Brandon Roy had similar knee problems to Sergio and it cut his nba career short. Everyones knees are put together a little different, for instance most NFL players knees are worn down some by the time they are in their mid 20s but Adrian Peterson's Dr. said the insides of his knee looked like a five year old. If Sergio hurt his knee in a way, and didn't get care it could cause bone spurs to grow in his knees. Your body can't grow tendons so it tries to grow bone to repair a tendon injury which can lead to an arthritic condition.

I always thought Sergio was suspect.

Damn, that shot in your sig is nice.

People act like Sergio was not TKO'd by Margarito when he was YOUNG. Somehow, getting his clock cleaned by the harder hitting Cotto at age 40 is mind boggling because he beat Chavez Jr?

Bottom line is he should retire, pursue other endeavors and come to America to have a reputable surgeon fix his knees the correct way once and for all.
