Former WBC super welterweight and middleweight champion, Argentinian Sergio ”Maravilla” Martinez, wants a farewell fight but his injuries are hampering him.
“I want to keep boxing, but this injuries are complicating even my daily life. I only will fight if I feel better,” commented Sergio during an interview by TyC Sports of Argentina.
Sergio is now dedicated to the artistic world, and sadly the dream of having a farewell fight is receding.
“My meniscus are crashed. I have to wear insoles on my shoes to walk correctly, and not to feel pain. So Far now I can't go back to train. I want to keep boxing, but these injuries are more complicated than we expected. During the next weeks I think I will be able to make a decision. I don’t seeing myself in the ring without being in the best possible shape to face a good rival. Honestly, I am not interested in another way, as I don’t want to be disrespectful to my fans."
