Watching ESPN First Take, SKIP seems to feel that Hagler was overhyped, just a puncher.

Is there any merit to it?

I like Hagler, he was a great. He was nothing compared with Pac, that's purely an objective statement.

In terms of skill or all time rankings? Cause all time its Pac. Hagler is one of the greatest MW's ever but is he better all time then Monzon,SRR,Greb? Pac is a 8 division champ, 4 time lineal champ, and has a chance to be the first 5 time lineal champ in history with his upcoming fight.

Manny is a so called 8 division champ but that should never be listed in comparison to fighters who fought when some of those divisions never exsisted.

That's a touching story. And I'm sure bitter Louis would have had such a mindset since he was basically little more than a white mans gimp in his day, used and abused.

In reality Hagler was in the 1980's, with racism largely abated, particularly in the boxing world. His southpaw stance not being a major factor when you are the man to beat historically or ever.

None of what you said however on a more important note detracts from the fact that Hagler was not as good as Pac.

Hell no, Hagler is the greatest middle weight ever. He fought in a MUCH better era and beat better fighters. Hearns and Duran are better than anybody Pacquiao has beaten. Hagler had a complete skill set. Fighters don't dominate divisions today the way Hagler did.

Duran is a light on version of Pac.

Hearns is was an aborted version of Margarito.

I am sure Antonio can artificially inflate to Cruiser too with enough burger and fries.

Look at their maximum extensions I am sure they could win by size against Pac.

But lb for lb, none of the fab 4 are nearly as good as Pac. That is the point!
