Anything he has to say about Marvin Hagler is irrelevant. I'm not sure he actually knows who Marvin Hagler is.
Yeah man Skip Bayless/Stehen A Smith is just a white guy stereotype baiting and disagreeing with a black guy stereotype and vice versa. They're selling racial frustration, nothing more. Bayless may not even have seen more than 1 Hagler fight.

Ok I might have stretched it too far there

But the rest of the post stands.

I will say... some people look back at the good 'ol days and are too nostalgic.
They think any fighter in that era they followed is better than any fighter now.

When the truth is,... we'd never know. Sports science, education and training methods/facilities have improved over time. Athletes today have access to the best. Thus, it can be argued the level of performance/competition could be better today than 20-30 years ago.

Truth is, Floyd Jr and Pac would be competitive with any fighter in their prime weight class from any era.

Leanord, Hagler, Hearns and Duran were all better than either Mayweather or Pacquiao.

Well they LOOK worse on film.

            And their records READ worse.

So I dunno what basis in reality your statement has.

Mayweather is by far the best defensive boxer in history.

Pacquaio is by far the best offensive fighter in history.

Now how the hell can you dispute that!

Pretty sensitive topic. I think the fact that Pac became a champion in 8 weight divisions is truly unique and I gonna give edge to him.

Skip Bayless says some of the dumbest stuff i've ever heard. I stopped taking him seriously when he said Pacquiao purposely struggled in the 3rd Marquez fight to 'lure Mayweather in'

Does he even watch many fights? he's meant to have covered boxing since Ali days but he either has a terrible memory or is completely ******. A few weeks ago he said something about Leonard dominating Hearns in the first fight wtf?

He said we can't ever know whether Pacquiao pretended to be asleep in the 4th Marquez fight, that it's possible.

It's simple. He showed up to a few major bouts when he was young and boxing still mattered, so he thinks he knows boxing. Same way my mom had a friend who argued with me about boxing because she was at the Garden to see Frazier/Ali 1. Show up to a couple big fights and you're an expert, apparently.

                    Skip Bayless is a trip

He called Hagler just a brawler and Manny was a boxing tactician ROFL

Hagler became aggressive when he started to slow down in the mid 80s

in the late 70'd and early 80s he was a boxer puncher supreme and had good skills, defense, power, and battered dudes

Hagler didn't move up a lot of weight classes but he was one of the most dominant champions in middleweight....12 defenses as undisputed Lineal champion....not that splintered crap like Hopkins who people say defended 20 xs but any reall boxing fan know he only defended 6 times. He didn't unify unti 13 defenses of the IBF BELT

Manny won more titles but Imo Hagler was the better champion and better fighter overall....Manny had more natural talent....Hagler had the skills and intangiles

No, Pac can't even adjust. Marvin was better all around plus he never got KOed 3 times
