Seems incomplete....focuses almost exclusively on the ratings...and one live gate.

The article doesn't give the full accounting of the PBC shows...it doesn't price out the cost of each show, how much was the time buy, how much were the purses, how much was paid to the promoter, how much was paid to the advertise the show, how much was made selling ad time during the show, how much was the live gate.

I think those pic belts are exactly what the sport needs. **** the wba, wbo, ibf, wbc, and all the diamond interim super jr champs. If one man can get a stranglehold on the game, only the fans win.

Damn straight. There's no downside to this succeeding, and the benefits are much needed.

Why would you invest in time buys in hopes the sport as a whole grows when you can **** and pillage it.

F.u..ck You Al Haymon & the PBC
yeah, bringing in new fans because they can now view the sport without shelling out $69.95 is a no win for the sport. even though these new fans may shell out for future bouts. the hardcore will always be there, this is a chance to bring in fresh blood.

This past weekend was the 1st time I seen people talking about boxing on my FB timeline when it had nothing to do with mainly Floyd or Manny. I noticed a lil bit for the Stevenson vs Bika card also.

EXACTLY! Too much information missing. NBC will be happy as long as Haymon continues to pay for the airtime. They don't care if it makes money or not.

Don't misread the ratings. It is setting records for SPORTS PROGRAMMING in that time slot, not for the time slot itself. Context is everything. As far as investing is concerned, NBC is more than happy to let Al Haymon continue to pay for his airtime as long as he can afford to do so. When he runs out of money, NBC will go back to whatever they usually show in that time.
