He would be successful against some of the current crop of losers....
Could Tarver be successful vs. the HEAVYWEIGHT champions?

No probably not. While Valuev is way too slow, one jab from him can rip Tarvers head offTarver cannot fight him from the outside and can't fight him in the inside so there's no way Tarver's gonna eek out a victory against the guy.
The most he can get is a very boring draw. He'll put on his running shoes and run all night until it's over.Comment

Tarver IS a big puncher at 175. Maybe you guys should rewatch his fights.
But yes, at heavy, Tarver's power would be negligible.Comment

he could prolly beat byrd but all other big heavyweights i see Tarver losing to. If he fought Brewster, Brewster would rip Tarver a new *******Comment

Tarver has a chance against Byrd or Brewster I think, but a I wouldn't make him a heavy favorite against either. Rahman would crush him, Toney would probably beat him. Samuel Peter would walk right through him. I don't think he'd make a very big impact as a Heavyweight and really I wouldn't expect him to make a huge impact as Cruiserweight either. Mormeck, Bell, Braithwaite. I would favor all of them over Tarver.Comment

well, obviously harding is quicker than most heavyweights, but obviously doesnt punch as hard as most heavyweights either, and it's not like Tarver moves a lot, so he'll be right there for the heavies to swing at. i do not think he could do good in the division.Comment
