Petterson flat out RAN. That wasnt boxing. I knew what he was TRYING to do but he looked so awkward executing it because its not his style, he looked like Amir Khan did against him, he was just running not even trying to throw back and Danny would step in and land a blow from time to time with no response.

Yeah Petterson did better in the later rounds, and thats the ONLY reason this was even a close fight, when he decided to fight like Lamont Petterson, Petterson did better. Thank god you guys arent judges..geez, you dont judge a fight by a fighters face. Thats Boxing 101

If you've got good legs, it's smart to utilise them. But when you're barely landing a punch in return, that's not boxing to me. And I say this as someone who loves Lamont and dislikes Danny. Lamont should have mixed it a bit more in the first half of the fight.

Certain sections are so in thrall with the idea of slickness that they fail to penalise non-engagement. See Lara-Canelo.

You cannot simply move non-stop and call it ring generalship.

Yeah he made him miss plenty and had him frustrated throughout with his movement. He just didn't make him pay enough during the early rounds to clearly win them. At times he was too concerned showboating and engaging in dancing competitions that he forgot to throw.

Like you say movement for the sake of movement shouldn't be rewarded just as ineffective aggression isn't rewarded. It's really hard to win a round when you're landing virtually no punches, save a jab or two, and your opponent is outhrowing you by three times as much.

Saying that Peterson clearly beat the **** out of Garcia during the second half. Fights are scored round by round however, too bad he took so long to start dominating in order to clearly win the match.

Peterson made this fight so garbage how do you run the entire first 6 rounds while throwing 2 or 3 punches come on you were scared to get ko early so you just tried to survived and tire Garcia for chasing you down to come strong at the end when it's too late

exactly. does angel really want the alternative? peterson's game plan was to move and frustrate garcia early, which he did. his corner was 100% right in thinking that garcia really has nothing if you're not standing right in front of him and giving him a target. we saw that last night. and when peterson decided to sit down and make it a real fight he beat him up and embarrassed him. he looked to be the far dominant fighter when he was walking garcia down and had him fighting off the back foot, which really kills his whole style. i had peterson in a clear win - he basically did everything he wanted to do in this fight and gave the champion a real beating.
