Garcia clearly won this fight. Peterson did a lot of out of character moving around early, but he was ineffective. Garica just stayed poised and touched him when he could. His defense was also good. Peterson came into the ring with a HUGE 12-15 pound advantage over Garcia. It's the only reason he wasn't KO'ed. You all need to grow up and be honest about what you're watching. No rematch is necessary.
That top 10 p4p list forever going to elude Garcia
He's just not that good
I agree. I actually though Garcia was P4P material prior to this fight. However, he proved in this fight that he is nowhere near a P4P fighter. He should stay at 140 because he would get scorched at 147.
Lamont Peterson has no one to blame for this loss except himself. If he had fought the first six rounds the way he fought the last six rounds, he would have won easily and may have KO'd Garcia. Instead, he spent the first six rounds running around like a clown at a circus and, because of that, he lost the fight.

And what did Garcia do the first first half of the fight? Stand around like he was walking in cement, eat jabs while not moving his head, and miss with those wild hooks.

Exactly. Peterson must of been worried about something, the way he started the fight. He had a 12-15 pound weight advantage, but fought out of character the first 6 rounds. Garcia is getting a lot of hate on here but he clearly won the fight. There is also a chance that Peterson would've gotten KO'ed, if he had tried to walk Garcia down, too early. That's why I think he ran. Late, Garcia seemed to be having a problem with Peterson's illegal weight advantage, more than his punch.

I think it was smart of him to actually move around early on and then put pressure later cuz Garcia is known for fading a bit later, you can't go in and try to walk down Garcia from the opening bell because he's a counter puncher with a bit of accuracy and a lot of power, and Peterson is a guy that can get hurt and knocked down as we saw against Mathysse, Mathysse had the right strategy but he just doesn't fight well when he's on his toes trying to box, he's just not fast enough and he doesn't feint so well, if he would've moved early while still scoring with quick combinations that didn't have much power behind him he would've won it much easier, he relied solely on the jab which wasn't enough, you have to land some flashy power shots that wins you the rounds, build a good lead on the score cards, then once you feel your opponent slow down you pick the pace up.
Right strategy, not so perfect execution, if I were Peterson and I saw that I can't outbox the guy and I'm not winning rounds early I would've pushed the attack a couple of rounds earlier though, that would've also won him the fight.

What ilegal weight advantage?! he weighed in at the contracted weight and there was no rehydration clause so he basically could rehydrate to whatever weight he wamted to rehydrate to-
Did Marv Albert and Sugar Ray Leonard bet a million dollars on Peterson? All they did was sing his praises all night, gave him credit for punches he missed and blatantly chose to ignore Garcia's successes. Fortunately, Steve Farhood got it right.
I agree, there were sequences that Danny landed and nothing was said.
