Comments Thread For: Rigondeaux Ready To Face Quigg on June 20th in UK

Double world champion Guillermo Rigondeaux has challenged Scott Quigg to a super-bantamweight unification fight in June.

Rigondeaux holds the WBO belt and the 'Super' version of the WBA title, while Bury's Quigg is the WBA's ordinary world champion.

The Miami-based southpaw's manager Gary Hyde last month wrote to the WBA asking for a mandatory defence against Quigg, who has instead been pursuing Belfast's IBF champion Carl Frampton.

Quigg's promoter Eddie Hearn this week offered Frampton a £1.5m purse, an offer that was immediately rejected.

Rigo is the best technical boxer on the face of the earth. Quigg, Frampton, LSC, Nonito again, it really doesn't matter. They all get beat rather easily.

lands on my B-day late birthday present for me if it happens. However there is a .01% chance of that fight happening. Quigg will simply reject it as soon as he can.

How is this a unification bout? Rigo is Super WBA amd Quigg is ordinary champ per the article.

There's no shame in losing to Rigo. Quigg should take the fight.

I like Quigg but the WBA need to force these belt holders to fight each other to regain any credibility.

If Quigg, or rather Hearn, finds an excuse for Quigg to avoid Rigo then SQ should be stripped of the belt.

The belts are supposed to lead directly to a fight with the real/super champion at the earliest possibility.

Quigg is having too many fights without mentioning a date to fight Rigo.

If Frampton won't bite(& I don't think he should) then Quigg should be forced to fight GR or be stripped of the interim belt.

                    Hahahaha.

Quigg is afraid of Frampton, he's hardly going to catch an absolute beat down from Rigo for far less money.
