  • Anyone else notice gabe rosado....

Am i the only one who thinks he comes across as a bit fake? I think he's a great fighter, has lots of heart and doesn't suck anyone.
But his whole demeanor and way of talking just seems like an act. It's also pretty weird how he tries to talk black so to speak. If any of you have followed him on snapchat he's used the n word multiple times. It feels a lot like watching that kid who was always trying to speak like mayweather and Broner.

He's a fringe contender, or a very good gatekeeper who happens to have a colorful personality.

          I have noticed that, OP.

Danny Garcia does the same thing. He's essentially 80% plus Spanish-European background, but you'd think he was African-American the way he postures and emulates.

It sounds extremely corny, and is laughable.

I noticed that quite a few people on this site generally don't like English speaking Latinos (non Mexican) from the east coast. My theory is there are a lot of nerdy type dudes on this forum and they can relate to immigrant Latino,Asian or even Eastern European fighters who lack style and personality (not their fault, language barrier) because they themselves lack in those departments...

Difference is they have no excuse they grew up in this country. Point is the young,American, urban fighters remind them of the guys who used to pick on them in highschool (probably still do). Well adjusted non beta type dudes don't even notice anything weird in the way "those type" of fighters act because they aren't viewed as a threat and we can just enjoy the sport without making it about "I hope he loses because he reminds me of the guy who used to smack me around back in the day"

It's a Puerto Rican, Philly thing. Philly got a lot of blacks and hispanics mixed up, and the culture rubs off on the people so you got a lot of Ricans dressing "black" or whatever. It's just how the environment is. If you go to Oakland you see the same thing but with Mexicans.

Both guys are from the same area and same ethnicity.. So it make sense for them to have similarities.

Oh man garcia I forgot about him! And he wonders why native Puerto ricans don't like him! Rosado and garcia are the worst offenders I reckon. i mean enjoying rap and dressing a certain way isn't limited by the colour of your skin but the way both of them go out of their way to use certain speech patterns and postures that happen to be similar to black athletes is really laughable. Rosado's recent press conference where he talked smack about shane Mosley is laughable. But at least Danny's dad doesn't behave like that. Then he's be even more annoying

Hm, I never thought about that. For some reason the Philly connection never clicked for me.

Just to save face I'm going to stand by what I said and say yes, as far as I know rosado does not suck anyone.
