not becoming thee man in the division isnt great? youre numb..

    exactly

Can't have it both ways, saying that GGG shouldn't be picking on Cotto but then brag about Cotto being champ. Fight GGG or VACATE!!!

If only Cotto fans were actually intelligent enough to realize that, things would be a lot more pleasant around here. Cotto is also welcome to try and clean out the division and unify the titles. He can start with his mandatory against GGG.
    hats off to you sir

So all of a sudden when it comes to GGG is isn't what most NSB posters claimed?

I agree if he doesn't fight his mando that he should vacate. I have stated that plenty of times.
I have no idea what people were saying before the Martinez fight, I was not posting on boxing boards at the time. I also don't care what anyone else was saying a year ago.

I have also said, maybe a dozen or more times, that I don't care if Cotto fights GGG or not as long as he vacates the title if he does not. I see nothing wrong with Cotto admitting that he is not a middleweight and that GGG would be too much for him. But if he takes on a middleweight in his voluntary, he no longer has any excuse at all for not fighting GGG. So if he plans to say that he does not belong at middleweight, he should vacate the title BEFORE his voluntary. Anything else is just cashing in on the title and dishonorable.

So basically.... fight a middleweight for the voluntary and he has no valid excuse not to fight GGG. If he vacates at that point, it simply means he is afraid of Golovkin. If he feels he does not belong at MW, he should vacate before the voluntary.

So I guess the next few months will prove whether Cotto is a man or a chicken.

Yea, I am numb to the bull**** of boxing for the most part, if the division is not good that accomplishment doesn't mean much. Being the smartest kid on the short bus is an accomplishment also but what the **** does it really mean in the grand scheme of the things.

The issue is boxing is never getting to the top, especially if you are quality and Golovkin is of quality. The issue is staying on top, staying on top is what impresses me if someone is just going to hang out in a division.

Longevity means something, so if he can stay on top of the division for 5 to 7 years he has something to brag about regardless of who he beats. I am cool waiting 5 or 7 years to judge him, are you?
You're shifting the conversation, moving the goal posts here. You were saying how winning a belt is meaningless, I disagreed. Unifying and becoming lineal champ does mean something, it always has. If a man clears out a division winning all the titles in the process, it leaves no doubt. Not many fighters do that these days.

And he happens to be a natural middleweight who has no trouble making weight for any of his fights. Canelo has more trouble making his fantasy division at 155 than GGG has making 160. He usually weighs in a pound or two under the limit as a matter of fact. There is no reason at all for GGG to move up to SMW, especially when the competition there will not be any more profitable than continuing to fight at MW. Not to mention that all the worthwhile fighters at SMW already have fights scheduled for the foreseeable future.

So if he was to move up, he would have no better opponents than he has at the moment at MW.

If there is anyone at all to blame for his lack of quality opposition, it is the other fighters who are too cowardly to get in the ring with him. As far as I am concerned, Willie Monroe has more balls than Quillin, Canelo and Cotto combined.
