Brook Gavin is a pointless fight i agree, but so is Khan Algieri.
Thurman called everybody out last year, but he specifically wanted Brook for this summer and agreed to come to the UK. Yeah both fights are pointless but Algieri is a much better fight than Gavin, that fight really is probably one of the worst fights that could be made right now. He lost to Bundu for crying out loud... He's a world champion he should fight the guys he suggested he would fight after his mandatory opponent. Khan is waiting it out for Pac-Floyd winner, Brook is waiting out for a fight with Khan for financial security and in between those fights they won't fight anybody that is a major threat, especially Brook because Gavin really is atrocious. But its also fair to say Brook might not ever fight anybody thats a major threat because history suggests he doesn't take risks but rather the easiest routes.

As someone in the tread earlier pointed out, Thurman hasn't got a say on who he fights.

I just love how Khan fans are hyping up Algieri as some former world champ monster and it's OK for Khan to be fighting him, all the while telling Brook to fight these young, dangerous opponents.

Both should be fighting higher opposition, as a Brook fan I can admit that, but all these excuses Khan fans are coming out with is getting ridiculous. The guy could fight a former champ aged 60 and you guys would defend that sh.it.Just admit both are fighting soft opposition, and quit enabling bad fights.

Brook gets so brave in front of a microphone, he was waving his arms post fight with his little sissy voice "Bwanden Weeos.... I wen deh feght, am reedee" ... Brandon accepts the challenge... Ignores it, signs fight with Frankie Gavin.

Kell is a damn clown and I'm not surprised he got smashed with a machete. Guy is shady as hell, he portrays one thing and lives an entire different lifestyle.

Algieri is no monster but he aint no bum either like most Brook fans have been claiming. He is a former world champion, who beat Provodnikov who was coming of a brutal destruction of Alvarado and beat Emmanuel Taylor who gave Broner a lot of trouble. Brook has only fought 1 decent world class opponent in his whole career, Khan has fought 12 former world champions, thats the difference. But whats worse is that Kell is a world champion, he should be fighting these guys like he said he would instead of fighting the likes of Gavin and punching bag.

Bundu would have been more acceptable.

Brook isn't fighting Flabbie Gavin while dismissing better opponents and claiming them not to be on his level. It's a tuneup fight and the first of two fights Brook will have in the next four months.

Not a great fight, but the UK audience will buy into it. So it will be a success in that sense.

Now, Kell is fighting a ******* fight now, and then a big fight in early August. Khan will probably only have this fight this year.
I absolutely love how Brook's career has revolved around Khan. Either Khan or the mail man, either Khan or the floor sweeper. Even when Khan was a LWW, Brook was more focused on Khan than winning a belt.

You do realize Thurman in March said he'd come to UK? Send the contracts. Marquez, Thurman, Rios, Chaves and I knew they'd settle for something lesser.

Please don't deviate by bringing up Khan, I've already established he is avoiding Brook at this point in time.

Fact is Brook is sitting on a moral high horse, so he shall be judged accordingly for his opponents. It's great you don't agree with this selection.

Bundu beat Gavin in a well-attended UK audience. Meaning, Bundu got a nice exposure in that fight. They would have loved to see Brook take on the winner of that fight. He preferred to take the loser.
