Yeah. They have some good prospects. Is Sadaam Ali with them?

Yeah. It was announced a few weeks ago that he just renewed his contract with GBP.

seems like a promotional outfit that only has one marketable fighter...unless i'm missing something? not sure who is still on their roster

is it safe to say that PBC has replaced them and the two major companies are Top Rank and Haymon's outfit?

it's pretty interesting how Top Rank outlasted Kingvision, GBP...will they outlast Haymon?

feel free to discuss...or post pics of *******

Yeah I agree that at this point they are a one trick pony...
It's obvious that Schafer built the business using oscars money and connects..
Now with no Schafer or Haymon alliance, Oscar and GBP is going to die a slow death much like don King promotions did...

Top rank, and PBC seem much better at attracting and securing talent

            Orozco is promoted by GBP.

So Top Rank is having a GBP fighter featured on one of their fight cards.
If you read the press releases, there is no mention of GBP .... not even in fine print.

“We’re excited to partner with Top Rank and our colleagues at HBO Sports to bring this high-caliber boxing series to truTV,” said Lenny Daniels, president of Turner Sports. “We share a common vision to present these events in a new and inventive way and look forward to offering this compelling content to our viewers.”

Why would they mention GBP? The deal is for Top Rank and TruTV. GBP is already associated with Fox Sports.

If you look at their roster, aside from just Canelo, Matthysse, Linares, Lemieux, you'll see they some solid talent, a lot of it young: Randy Caballero, Francisco Vargas, Ivan Morales, Frankie Gomez, Antonio Orozco, Joseph Diaz, Diego De La Hoya, Julian Ramirez, et al.

There's some talent there to work with.

I'd say that within 1-2 years of GBP getting their younger talent more exposure through HBO, FS1, and maybe some more TruTV fights they will be in a much stronger position than they currently are.

If they can continue to add younger talent, especially in and around strong boxing markets like So. Cal and Texas they would be doing very well.
Mitchell Kane strikes again dropping that concrete slab of knowledge right on our noggin. I'd green K you, but then I'd have to kill you. (or I can't green K you because I already did and I "need to spread it around.")

And yet there's Antonio Orozco, a GBP fighter, on the undercard of a Top Rank/TruTV fight card.

To be clear .... I'm not in dispute, I'm only stating that GBP isn't even mentioned as the promotional sponsor of its fighter. Since there are contractual considerations at play here, the very least would have been a simple "Featuring GBP's Orozco" or something to that effect.

Good post - and just to piggy back off your last point..GBP has never really strayed from what they were best at and that is connecting with locals fans and putting on local fights. To me this is what GBP has been about - very organic approach and they still personally reach out to customers about their cards. They give great deals/packages, offer access to their fights/fighters...a lot of good stuff when trying to have to build new talent. This is route that is going to help them work their way back - they still put weight into the "all boxing is local" idea. Nationally, they are going to have to wait until some of their prospect come around. I expect Frankie Gomez to be the first one to get a good push..great fight for him against Soto coming up.

anyway, Oscar is still Golden with a coat of Teflon, it doesn't matter what this dude does people still seem to gravitate toward him. There will always be a group of ambitious fighters who hope/want to go the "Oscar route" and take on whoever.
