Garcia doesn't say "next summer", he says "by the summer". I actually read the article because the title sounded too unbelievable.

Actually only 7 of Danny's 29 fights have been at the Junior Welterweight limit, the rest are at catch weights above 140= welterweight. Danny is a welterweight draining himself to fight smaller guys.

Can I explain something that some of you guys seem to miss that is the difference between Danny's catchweight and Mannys. Manny had 3 catchweights. Manny was fighting at 135 and Oscar at 154, they met in the middle at 147. Manny was fighting at 140 and Cotto at 147, they met in the middle at 145. Manny was fighting at 147 and Margarito 154, they met in the middle at 150. That is what a catchweight is for, two guys of different sizes coming to an agreement to meet at a catch weight in the middle of the two. Danny has had 2. Danny was fighting at 140 and Salka at 135, they met at a catchweight above the heavier fighters weight. Garcia was fighting at 140 and Peterson at 140, and they made a catchweight above both of their weights.

I don't like catchweights in general but sometimes it's necessary if there is a weigh disparity. The Salka catchweight was the most ridiculous thing ever. The Garcia-Peterson one only sucks bc they are both 140 champions and it should be a unification instead of just a regular fight. If neither had a belt, I wouldn't care.
