Comments Thread For: Andre Berto Ready: I Would Love The Kell Brook Fight

Former welterweight champion Andre Berto (30-3, 23KOs) returned to the ring on March 13th with a knockout victory over Josesito Lopez. Berto said that he took a few weeks off after the fight and that he will be getting back in the gym soon.

"I'm feeling good. I'm going to take another week off then get back in the gym. We have a great team and we are focused on getting the job done," said Berto.

Berto said that he is open to fighting all of the top contenders in the welterweight division.

This is a easy fight for Brook. Berto better look to fight someone else. Any momentum he gained from the Lopez fight will be gone. Berto is just not top notch, been in too many wars. I'd love to see a Ortiz rematch.

Oh god please no. Berto isn't even a top 20 welterweight anymore. He should keep fighting guys like Lopez, because anyone in the top 15 embarrasses him.

When has Berto ever really been embarrassed? Truth is he's tough against anybody. He has a lot of heart. He went 11 rounds with Soto Karass with one arm. He's a lot tougher than that stiff that Brook just fought.

Berto fight is better than Decarie.

IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (33-0, 22KOs) is going to announce his next opponent on Monday. Brook is scheduled to make his first world title defense on March 28th at the Motorpoint Arena in his hometown of Sheffield. There are discussions to face his mandatory challenger Jo Jo Dan. The two sides are not in line on the financial terms.

Brook needs to prove himself but you have already anointed Thurman as a monster.

                You seem very impartial.

Losing to Soto Karass should be embarassing to a former champ regardless of how many limbs were injured. Lets be real here, Bertos last fight against Lopez was the Battle of the Shot, Lopez was just more shot than Berto which isnt saying much. Berto should try BKB.

Berto is not shot. He's just a beatable fighter like most fighters are. He has some talent and he can punch. Bertos problem is he's not a good enough boxer to win fights when the opponent can take his power. But nobody has ever just walked right through Berto. I think a fight with Kell can be competitive.
