nobody used jail as an excuse for Mayweather before he faced Cotto in 2012...hell Mayweather tried to make the fight then, but Arum had excuses like Manny's cut wouldn't be healed, even though he had 6 months...Also wasn't there the stadium thing or was that in 2010

I've seen fighters look a lot worse during the fight after cutting weight. Diego was gonna get outboxed either way, just like James toney vs Roy Jones

Fighting is their profession and if youre in no condition to fight, you can pull out...it happens because of injury and other things all the time. That's Corrales' team fault if he was weight drained. Discipline between fights is crucial. Its ironic people say it was hard for him to make the weight, but after a 2 year lay off he came back and won another title at 130 and fought Casamayor twice at 130.

Part of being a world class fighter and being considered a great fighter is coming in the ring in top condition. That's whats seperates the Roy Jones Jr from the James Toneys....the guys that can get by on talent. When talent is even or close to it, you better come in shape. Im not gonna penalize Ray Leonard for Duran blowing up and cutting weight before fight 2....nor will I penalize Jones Jr. for Toney....same goes for Floyd over Corrales

IMO he didn't look drained, as much as he looked befuddled during the fight.

Leading up to the fight, weigh in, the night of the fight, after the fight, years later, it was mentioned that he was severely drained.

He came something like 2lbs over the limit at the weigh in. Its all well documented. Its documented much much better than Oscar dela Hoya vs Manny and Floyd fans are always saying that Oscar was drained. Even though OScar's trainer said that was not the case even after the fight. I wonder why(Floyd fans say differently)?

Diego mentioned it that he would only go back down to 130 to get another title. Especially because it was a named fighter in Floyd. In the other thread, Mosley said the opportunity and money was too good to give up against Manny even though he was injured. So you know that they go in their with their bruises but sometimes, the injuries are insurmountable.

As for coming back, between Floyd and Casamayor, Diego was knocked down something like 8 times!!!

Dude was busting speed bags every other day in training, dropping partners like nothing and had roid acne all over his back. Those things might cause some su****ions.

In regards to Pac being a better fighter now, I agree. I just see much more in his arsenal like in the Rios fight and Bradley fight he has a wider variety of punches. If you go back to the first Marquez fight and see THAT Pacquiao, he was so ****ing one dimensional it's not even funny.
          Is that what happened ?

          Bradley, simply regressed mid-fight ?

          Bizarre huh ?

            .

he also got up 8 times...that's what warriors do, Corrales wasn't gonna miss a chance to be the man at 130 and miss the biggest fight of his career. Im not blaming him or Floyd.

Corrales was pissed both times he got stopped....dude would have died in that ring, its hard to beat guys like that, you have to knock them the **** out or box their ears off

Corrales had the never say die attitude...im not dis*****g whether he was a 100% but all that goes out the window when the bell rings....he didn't look as sluggish as some guys I saw struggle with weight....Jones looked half dead against Tarver in the first fight before the bell rung....Pale, his muscle definition was all but gone

Manny has been dropped and he usually gets up as well, most the time anyway...that's commendable

Acelino Freitas was a good puncher and Diego never got dropped or stopped trying to win

Fighters have won fights when they were weight drained or injured so should we penalize the guys who lost to them?

pac always comes back strong after a loss.

              - after his first loss he went on to beat sasakul to win the WBC flyweight and lineal title

              - after his second loss he went on to win both the super bantamweight and featherweight titles.

              - after his loss to morales he went on to stop morales twice and win world titles in 5 more divisions.

              - after his loss to marquez he went on to regain his world title by beating top p4p bradley who was coming off a very good win against top p4p and top welterweight marquez.

              - pacquiao will again put on an ATG performance and badly beat up and most likely stop floyd.

Pacquaio put his foot on the gas and Bradley tried to hurt Manny again after buzzing him twice in the early part of the fight. Both attributed to his undoing. He should have stuck with the game plan, but Manny was smart enough to adjust to what he was trying. I commend Pacquaio for that. Bradley shot himself in the foot and Manny shot him in the ankle
