Floyd says that Ward will beat GGG, but Ward chooses Periban with a record of one win, one draw and three losses (one by TKO) in his last five fights. Dreamland meet reality.
Golovkin's opponents aren't even boxers. They're pit fighters.
I'm fine with that as his opponent after his self-imposed layoff, but why wait til June 20th?
Hasn't this guy bragged about staying in fighting shape the whole time? Why does he need another 11 weeks to prepare for Perriban? He could fight in two weeks against Perriban and then again on June 20th vs Medina and have his tuneups done and be ready for a real fight.
Good point. Why 11 weeks? Its not like its a massive HBO PPV fight where plenty of hype is needed. So now he is returning, and yet he still waste his prime/time. Whoever is advising him should be fired.

Maybe it has more to do with Periban needing time to prepare? Even so, I agree that it's a lot of time.
Crap matchup.... But understandable since ward has been out for so long, but he needs to come right back after this fight and land a meaningful one.. Like 2-3 months inbetween fights like Golovkin does

It would be awesome if he had a fight in June, and then in Sept against Medina, then another fight in Dec/January. Ward doesn't seem like the type of fighter to do that, so I would be impressed. He tends to fight only twice a year.

That should be his schedule... The guy is just throwing money away in his prime by not being active and not fighting big fights... Your prime only lasts so long, gotta make that cash will you can
