Is Cotto too small for 160 or not?

What I'm asking is, is Cotto a MW or not? Or is he a MW when it comes to fighting any MW other than GGG and not a MW when he's being forced into a showdown with GGG?

Cotto is a MW, he's the MW champion. Is it the best division for him? No, doesn't mean he can't fight there. So I have no clue what you're complaining about now... Obviously Cotto isn't a MW, but he's fighting in the division so who cares.

As for him fighting or not fighting GGG, why are you guys still b*tching about that? He gets a voluntary first, be mad at the WBC for giving him one, not Cotto for taking it. You do realize he's FAR from the only fighter to ever take a voluntary defense right? You guys hate him or his fans and look for anything to hate on...

Cotto fighting a MW at MW is exactly what you guys demanded and it's still not good enough so you find something else to discredit. Is it so hard to say "Cotto has shown his balls are huge on 24/7 and in the ring. He'll fight anyone and his resume shows it." Saying anything otherwise is pure hate and nothing more.

You fanboys have me confused. When it comes to a fight with GGG, all I hear is, "well Cotto is just using the MW title as leverage and plans to dump it before being forced into a fight with GGG because in reality he's not a true MW".

Now that there's rumor circulating about Cotto vs Geale, the fanboys are now talking about how this is a good fight.

So which is it? Is Cotto a MW only when it comes to facing certain MW fighters not named GGG, or is he too small for the division?

I think Cotto is too small for the MW division, the guy is barely 5'7'' and was a pretty mediocre sized LMW. Issue is, he still has enough skill and power at the weight to beat hobbled fighters or decent contenders such as Geale.
When you talk about him fighting a hard punching MW like GGG, then we all know Cotto will get exposed at the weight which is why he is steering clear and why he's fans and flip flopping.

I would personally like to see Cotto v the winner of Quillin/Lee, most likely Lee.

Once again....I have no problem with Cotto not fighting at 160. Either piss or get off the pot though. Don't cherry pick your MW opponents and criticize GGG's resume then choose to fight a guy that GGG demolished in 3. It hurts your credibility. Relinquish if you don't plan on proving you're the best MW in the division by taking on the guy perceived to be the best. I wont knock him for that.

RJJ knew he wasn't a HW and that's why he went right back down after beating Ruiz. Had he stuck around people would have been calling him out the same way they're calling Cotto out on it. Imagine had he stuck around picking and choosing weak HW's while avoiding the top dogs.
