The same thing happened with Broner, his videos got put on websites like Worldstar and suddenly everyone knew about him, those vids got millions of views.

BET is pretty much free, you don't have to pay for it like HBO, something I haven't even had for years. Young people watch it as well from all races, from all economic backgrounds, not just a few limited watching HBO or Showtime.
          good post

If he's taking a tuneup not on HBO's dime, I'm perfectly cool with that.

the style of Ward is appealing to people that appreciate boxing, or what people call purists, others that don't appreciate that style too much might think he's boring but still consider him a top fighter, i don't think BET's audience is gonna sit through 12 rounds of Andre Ward and be like "wow he's a great technician" "wow look at that footwork" "great jab" "oh he knows just when to clinch"

Most hardcore fans will watch it, yes. We understand the talent that Ward is. The problem with Ward is he has never understood that this is entertainment or he just does'nt care. Being a great boxer is'nt enough to make you a star. Either you have an exciting style that the masses want to see or create a constant buzz for yourself outside the ring with wild antics and great quotes. Ward has the skills to be one of the best ever, but he lacks that thing that creates a huge fan base. He does'nt have an exciting style and he has a rather bland personality. Which adds up to zero star power.

Well I know that I will not be watching it on BET as I do not have that channel in my package and will not add it to see the occasional bottom of the barrel fight that no one else wants to broadcast. Now if he is fighting a half way decent opponent I may take the time to stream it on line but even that will be a long shot.
